on the latest GH Podcast, Mike spoke with me about so much. He was so open, honest, and candid. You can see why his players, colleagues and the state of Minnesota loves him so much. I appreciate him talking about his journey. He is truly an inspiration and I hope you can take a listen. He made me want to work harder, be more thoughtful, and focused in my daily life. Although his coaching journey is over, I hope he can do some motivational speaking, he sure did motivate me.

Mike is rowing the boat. Clearly he is not sure where his life is headed, but as he works hard, continues to be positive, he'll find another purpose. Class guy.

People, like Mike, will find success in whatever they choose to do. He is clearly a man who knows how to persevere, so I am not worried that he will find his next calling and be successful.

I've known Mike and his family for about 7 or 8 years now and I can tell you, he is one of the best. I certainly understand his decision but it is the coaching profession's loss, I can tell you that.

Fantastic interview. Excellent questions, I love how Nadine allows the interviewee to thoughtfully answer questions without feeling like she has to talk over the guest, and Mike's answers were so thoughtful and genuine. Well done to both.

Go Gophers!!

Mike is an incredible young man who has been through more challenges than any of us can fully understand. I am hoping that at some time the U is able to reconnect with Mike in some way. Mike admits that he may not have the stamina for coaching again, but I have to believe that Mike would be a fantastic contributor at the U in some way. Best wishes to Mike and his family.

The way PJ is, I wouldn't be surprised if he initiates it. I also want him to be a part of the U again.

They should make a statue of the sherels boys somewhere on campus. Those kids are football royalty around here if you ask me

Theres got to be a way to keep mike or his name involved with the program somehow...a sherels award or something

Could put it right next to the Barber's when that one gets built.

His resilience is impressive and I wish him/ family nothing but the best.
