This is an odd one. Mike Moore is no longer listed under our commits and it appears as though he set up a last minute trip to K State this weekend. I'm not sure what happened between the new coaches coming on and now but it does not appear Moore decommitted for a sexier offer, as he had a K St. when he verballed to the U and he still had the offer when he reaffirmed his commitment to stick with the Gophers after Kill was announced head coach. I'm curious as to what actually happened between then and now. Why would we cool on this kid????

He has been a soft verbal for a while. Maybe KState is closer to home? The only thing I am concerned about given he is from Dallas Skyline and the other Gopher players from there, I hope there is nothing negative coming from them. (Reeves, Cooper, Stoudemire and Johnson)

This has been in the works for a while now. When a recruit responds w/ only "no comment" on several occasions, over the course of weeks to confirm his commitment, it's not hard to read the writing on the wall.

Right, but what is odd is that he was really excited to reconfirm his verbal to the U after Kill was hired, then a month later he is settling on a school he picked the U over twice??? I'm guessing there was something with the communication between him and the new coaches that changed things. I'm guessing we will probably not know exactly what happened, but seems odd...

Who is johnson?

Well McKnight came from there so maybe is was a mistype

Your right...for some reason I was thinking Johnson. Amazing that both Stoudemire and McKnight were 2 star players. McKnight looks like the #1 receiver this coming year and Stoudemire may have found his place at DB where he can take out his issues on opposing offenses.

"Liquor in the front, Poker in the rear!"

Big Johnson!

I remember one kid in high school who kept wearing those shirts. At first he had to turn it inside out but then they eventually suspended him for a few days. I kinda think he wanted that to happen so he could get out of school for a few days.

The pipeline that produced talents such as Keanon Cooper and Da'Jon McKnight is officially closed. I only hope that the same thing doesn't happen to the current pipeline with Delray Beach, especially after what I have seen from Kirkwood so glad he's still got 4 years left to be a dominate back.

I've kind of heard these rumblings a couple weeks ago that K-State was getting serious with him... now it is just a formality it seems.

Not a good move.

Sorry, KU4LIFE, but I would not commit to K-State, KU or any other former Big12 school which could soon be left in the lurch. With the new UT network and A&M and OU rumored to still be considering the SEC, why go to any of these schools which may soon not have a conference? I can't believe this uncertainty about being in the SunBelt or MWC hasn't really hurt recruiting at ISU, KU, K-State, Mizzou, etc

They've had an offer out to him since last summer, and since then, have still been recruiting him the whole time. Not sure what changed the last few weeks to make him look there again, but it's not because K St. just started showing serious interest.

Sure KSU has been recruiting him for quite some time, but this is the time of year that Bill Snyder actually puts most of his focus in recruiting. If there were others with offers higher on the board, he tried for them harder first. Just it is apparent that Moore became the main target for the LB spot within the last month or so.

As for KU and KSU, they will be fine. Both already have agreements to go to the Big East if things feel apart in the BIG XII (those agreements were in place when the sage went down this past off-season). So it isn't like they are left in a lurch in reality. Basketball wise they would make the Big East by far the best basketball conference in the country and add quality Universities for the football aspect of the Big East. Would make a Western Division possible for football with the likes of TCU, Cincy, Louisville and possibly another BIG XII school like Missouri or Iowa State.
