I just don't see how we run the ball against Nebraska.

wisky plays Nebraska a week before Minnesota does. Maybe ole bucky will show us how... Not saying I hope the Huskers lose; just saying that there is a lot of football between now and the Nebraska game. By then its possible they will be exposed.

Having said that, the game in Lincoln is our least likely W on the schedule, IMO.

Looks like we won the GVB in '99, '00, '03, '04 and '13 (wow, a lot of PSU wins were negated by sanctions).

'99 - we didn't play Michigan.
'00 - we didn't play Michigan.
'03 - we all know what happened...
'04 - see above. Ouch.

All told, Michigan held the LBJ 1987 - 2004.

We won the LBJ in '05; however, we lost GVB to PSU the week prior (later negated by sanctions, but c'mon).

So it looks like never.

2014 could be memorable.

I started the season saying 10-2, but had the TCU game wrong. Changed to 9-3 after that and I'm sticking to it. I see I'm no longer alone. Ls to tOSU & @Neb. All 4 trophies!

Gopher defense makes several big plays this Saturday, offense makes more strides, some fans celebrate by having a boilermaker. 6-1
Illinois gets a big play early, but Gophs take the fight out of them, finish strong and win convincingly. 7-1
Move over Jug, here's pig in your eye. 8-1
Most pundits give Gophers no chance against Mason's alma mater, but they befuddle the frosh QB and drive him nuts. 9-1
Underdogs again, Gophs feast on corn on the Cobb, and pull out a close one. 10-1
What the...? Gophers don't need no stinking badges, we have an axe. 11-1

I like the 62% chance of us beating Wisconsin.

As someone else has pointed out you need to change your name! It means something different...?

We'll have a chance in all the games. It doesn't mean we will win any of the last 4. I will be terribly shocked and disappointed if we don't win the next two.

The Iowans game last year was a total beat down, no doubt. It was our worst offensive output of the year. That will not happen again. The unforced errors committed by one Phil Nelson shall not be repeated. Their defense is not the same. The game is at home. It will be a good game we should win.

I'm such a homer that I feel a need to constantly "control the message." It's sort of the opposite of Ruesse saying that if the Gophers don't blow out a particular team, people should be disappointed ending up in either a disappointment or just fulfilling an expectation. I predict us going 3-3, knowing we have a good chance at winning more thus setting up future commentary about how we an in a historic run. I call it "Next Level Homerism."

Wins: vs. Purdue, @ Illinois, vs. Iowa. And one of three vs. NE/Wis/Ohio State. If I had to venture a guess as of now I would say Wisconsin is the most winnable of the last three games.

And for that reason I am 100% cheering for Nebraska this weekend, with the hope that Iowa knocks of Northwestern later in the year. IMO from a pure skills perspective (aka putting aside schedules) they are the best team in the West Division.

If we had a passing game that was as good as NW's, I'd predict 10 or 11 wins.

Since I still feel Mitch could have a TCU meltdown at any time, I went with 8.
