How do you see the rest of the season playing out? What's our final record?

Oct. 18 vs Purdue
Oct. 25 @ Illinois
Nov. 8 vs Iowa
Nov. 15 vs Ohio State
Nov. 22 @ Nebraska
Nov. 29 @ Wisconsin

I'm going with 3 more wins - Purdue, Illinois, and one of the last four (don't know exactly which one - gut says Iowa, heart says Wisconsin). 8-4 (5-3) final record, and a mid-tier bowl.

4 more wins. Purdue, Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin.

Outback Bowl appearance but a loss in true Big Ten fashion. Jerry still searching for his first bowl win.

Outback Bowl.

Concur with Furry. Kill really needs to get a win against Wisconsin soon, and I think this year he gets it. Don't think it is too optimistic to predict us to take the 3 we will be favored in and then steal 1 of the 3 where we are dogs.

4-2 with losses to Iowa and OSU. Yes, we beat Nebraska because Kill and staff will out coach Pellini.

Went 5-3 with wins in the next 3 and loses in the final 3. If the Wisconsin game was here I would like our chances more. 6-2 is definitely a possibility but unfortunately so is 4-4 given how even the Big Ten has seemed across the board.

0-2 more wins = Disappointed
3-4 more wins = Very Good season, Another brick
5-6 more wins = Amazing season + Big Ten Championship game

Ever the optimist in me says 9-3.

GO GOPHERS!!!

Three wins in a row starting Saturday, then three losses to wrap up the B1G. And A WIN in the San Fran bowl.

I truly think our only loss from here on out comes at the hands of OSU. 10-2

I think that Ohio St. May be our only loss. TEN WIN SEASON!!

LOL - I see you voted 5-7. Would you like to put your money where your month is? I would love to be able to bet you that the Gophers win at least six games this season but I suspect that you're not a man of conviction. The good news is that based on your prediction the Gophers should succeed your expectations easily. Or is it just that you are afraid of being disappointed? What ever the reason is, show a little more confidence. You could start slowly by going out on a limb an predict 6-6.

I went 9-3. I see us beating Purdue and Illinois for certain. I like us against Iowa and I think we beat the Badgers this year. Losses at home to OSU and at Nebby. That is what I think our potential is. Possibly swap Nebby instead of Wisky win.

I agree with everything you said. Those last three are toss ups. The long time Gopher fan in me is prepared for a let down, but the eternal optimist in my says why not us? Would love to see all 4 trophies housed at MN.

When was the last time the Gophers had all 4 trophies at one time? It's gotta be a LONG time ago I would think..

1967 is the last year we had all three (Axe, Pig, Jug). The bell didn't come into play until the 90s.

The answer for all four trophies is never (but the Liberty Bell has only been around since 1993)

Last time for all three trophies - 1967

For those of your predicting a 7-1 Big Ten Season, that would also be a first time ever as the gophers have never won more than 6 conference games in a season. (BTW - 6 conference games total was the yearly norm from the early 30's until the early 50's. 7 conference games/team was then the typical total until around 1970 - then everyone pretty much increased to 8/season. There are exceptions from time-to-time.)

That was the last year we had all three at the end of the season. In 1978 we briefly had all three. In 1977 the Gophers beat Michigan and Wisconsin, but lost to Iowa. On October 14th, 1978, the Gophers beat Iowa and had all three. Two weeks later, the Gophers lost to Michigan.

I said before the season it could either be good or bad. I also said we would go as far as Mitch could take us. He has looked much better the past few games(might have looked better given the chance to practice against some of the non conference teams more)
We still ride on his shoulders.
2 more wins are solid
3 maybe
4 out on a limb
5 not impossible but not probable
6 a lot of things would have to align just right for this to happen

lets hope for a good bowl match up and a victory where ever the gophers go.

3-3 the rest of the way...although I'm a little nervous about Iowa.

I am a little surprised at people picking us to finish 8-4...no faith? I think the season is slightly disappointing if we can't finish 4-2 the rest of the way.

Not very bold, but I think 3-3 at worst, 4-2 at best. 4-2 may give us a shot to win the West.

I think this nails it. Agree 100%!!

Harrumph!!

As someone else has pointed out you need to change your name! It means something different...?

We'll have a chance in all the games. It doesn't mean we will win any of the last 4. I will be terribly shocked and disappointed if we don't win the next two.

The Iowans game last year was a total beat down, no doubt. It was our worst offensive output of the year. That will not happen again. The unforced errors committed by one Phil Nelson shall not be repeated. Their defense is not the same. The game is at home. It will be a good game we should win.

These are the same 4 wins I think we get. I just don't see how we run the ball against Nebraska.
