Michigan thin at defensive tackle

What are people's thoughts on Michigan next year, as they compare to Penn State this year? For the answer, it requires an opinion on a moving target. Next year's Gopher squad will be different than this year's edition that beat this year's version of Penn State. The different Gopher team next year will have a home matchup with a different Michigan team. I'd like to think the Gophers could beat Michigan next year with an improved team and RTB culture.

It is weird though because as a fan, I rarely go into a Penn State game thinking there is no chance to win. For whatever reason, the Gophers have matched up pretty well with Penn State over the years regardless of who is coaching, what the teams are ranked, etc. Meanwhile, we all know the long term struggles with Michigan and how even Gopher teams that have had decent chances going into the games of winning (see 2008, 2015) have still found ways to lose to Michigan.

I like our chances better with next year's team against next year's Michigan than this year's team against this year's Penn St...even though we beat this year's Penn St.

Agreed

Michigan will be breaking in a new QB and will be coming off a tough slate of games before they run into us. I'm looking forward to the match-up and think it will be a much smaller spread than we saw against Penn State in 2019.

We will be coming in off some tough matchups ourselves.

Schedules:
Minnesota Michigan
Sep 3 Fl. Atlantic Sep5 Washington
12 TN State Ball St.
18 Iowa 19 Ark. St.
26 BYU Whisky
Oct 3 @ Maryland Penn State
10 @ Whisky @MSU
17 Michigan @ Minnesota

No byes for either team before the game and both teams come in after being on the road for bitter rivalry games! I see very little schedule advantage for either team.
