Michigan State is working to hire Cardinals DL coach Winston DeLattiboudere to the same role.

Not convinced assistant coaches make much of a difference.

Akin to a $1,000,000/year accountant vs. a $150,000 one. You'd likely get the same result if they both did your books.
This is true as long as you're on the up and up.

I liked Gibbs as he seemed happy to go crazy and roll the dice / stack the box and dare folks to throw.

Granted he had Tyrone Carter back there to clean up after that kinda play. Very much roll of the dice defensive system. If TC isn't back there I think things would have been very different.
He also had two great passing rushing DL in Riley and Schlecht. Blitzing is less effective if you're less worried about leaving guys 1-on-1.

Oddly enough, I thought one of our problems this year is that we occasionally were too exotic in our blitzing. The Rutgers game was maddening with the number of times we got caught on a draw on 3rd and 8+.

But the $1,000,000.00 accountant most likely has a nicer pen for you to sign your documents with.;)

$$$ is still bigger at MSU. For me it's

1. Money
2. Fleck wasn't interested.

I don't know if I'm excited about either of those scenarios.
2 is related to 1. PJ wasn't interested because he knows we can't be competitive with our offer

In today's college football, a high dollar DL coach might be worth it if they are also a great recruiter or take on some other important role. A $1M DL specialist seems like a waste of dollars.

Not if he really liked with the DE coach brought to the table in producing and he's already decided to make him the DL coach.
