An $11 million dollar report? A $30 million dollar fine. A string of football violations. A basketball coach announced to be locked up only to have him leave because the deal wasn't signed... and on and on...can't have much time left?

AD is all about organizational politics and Belien doesn’t strike me as a politics guy. If he’s the figurehead and there’s a staff doing the work, maybe but I don’t see it.

All it took for Manuel to resign was:

• A years-long sign-stealing scheme by the football team which
  • He's alleged to have been aware of
  • Led to the sitting head coach to leave town in front of NCAA investigators, he would eventually receive a 10-year show cause
  • Led to the University being mildly fined, forfeiting postseason revenue for 2 years (total estimate $30M), and four years probation
  • Led to the suspension of the new head coach in 2025
• A simultaneous effort to both cover-up the extramarital affairs of Sherrone Moore and (allegedly) trap him in a honeypot with another athletic department employee which
  • Led to Moore's dismissal for cause (Manuel promoted him in the first place)
  • Led to the endangerment of the above employee (Paige Shiver) when Moore appeared at her home following his dismissal, she is now suing the school
• Failure to consummate an agreement with basketball HC, Dusty May, after
  • Manuel proclaimed they had a deal during the victory parade
  • Allegations Michigan basketball was tampering with players at other programs
