According to a Strib story. It says something about the returning defensive ends when both starters for game five are freshmen!

STrib: Amaefula has moved ahead of Wilhite at DE

Here is the link:

"The rest of the two-deep lineup is virtually unchanged, with one exception: Michael Amaefula has moved ahead of junior D.L. Wilhite at defensive end, giving the Gophers bookend freshmen on the pass rush, with Ben Perry at the other end."

Go Gophers!!

Wilhite has been a one-dimensional player (Pass rushing specialist) who's not very special at his one dimension. If we was racking up 10 sacks a year while getting blown off the ball on every running play it'd be one thing, but he's not. Long past the point for him to step up or grab some pine imo.

If the young guys prove that they deserve to play this season I'm all for a youth movement.

Amaefula has flashed thusfar, he separates well from the OT at times, he's just really light right now. Wilhite needs to improve his rush moves and flexibility IMO.
