Miami 4

Honestly, this board is pretty "normal" when it comes to freaking out in tough times. If you aren't already, you should be reading the This Week in Schadenfreude feature that Brian Cook does over at SB Nation. You'll see that there is plenty of crazy on the college sports internets and we've simply carved out our little piece. Seeing the crazy elsewhere doesn't make it less annoying here. Just puts it all in perspective.

That is pretty funny. I especially enjoyed this: <IMG SRC="http://cdn3.sbnation.com/imported_assets/831537/AbWqdfdCIAEdUcv.jpg">

That is pretty funny. I especially enjoyed this:

I love a lot of the stuff over on SB nation and especially OTE.

If you don't click over to Shaggybevo.com every once in a while and read a bit, you're not a college football fan.

I disagree. I find this board to be generally MORE negative than others that I visit, and I visit a lot of them. That is true in general, as well as specifics such as the way fellow "fans" are willing to name call and jump on each other here. I get frustrated as much as the next guy, the team is horrible right now, but I see no value in continual "we'll never be good enough" babble. I'm visiting less often these days, just like I had to take a partial vacation from it last year when the team was 1-9.

I didn't think we were more negative than other boards, until I read your post. Your negativity pushed us over the top and now I believe we are more negative than most boards. Thanks a lot.

Anytime I start thinking this board is getting too negative and has to be the worst...I go and read the Kentucky BB board or the Alabama board after a loss or the Texas board anytime last year...this ain't nothing compared to those whackjobs.

great report, getthemall. Nice to see the miami 4 are facing good competition. Maybe this will help bump somebody to a 4th star.

Nice work Getthemall. We need some perspective from actual people instead of the morons that tend to take over this board in tough times.

AMEN!!!! Post of the year worthy, IMO.

The Co-op statues was by far the greatest sports thread in the history of the world.

Well we don't have Millions2Spare to kick around anymore.

Is that a positive or a negative.

For anyone who doesn't know what they're talking about or just wants to waste part of their day. It starts to get real good around page 10: http://www.shaggybevo.com/board/showthread.php/75135-UT-Football-Basketball-Baseball-amp-Golf-statues-behind-Co-op

And another one of my all-time favorites: http://mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=172&f=3725&t=1884620

Yep, those are two of the greatest threads.

Has anyone here ever posted on the ESPN NFL General Board? There have been a couple threads over there that were hilarious, one of them involved a 19 yr old kid who made videotapes of him throwing a nerf football and asking for pointers on his mechanics (he was serious) because he was thinking of trying out for QB of his college's football team.

Ouch. I don't care if you're trying out to be a benchwarmer at Macalaster, if you're going to try out for the football team, at least get a real football.

It was epic. Hardest I've laughed in years. Multiple diet coke spit takes.

My wife seriously questioned my sanity. At one point I think I ended up choking on my own laughter.

All in all, a very good season so far. Ranked in the top 20 in the country. The Fantastic Four, Jordan Hinojosa DT, Josh Ballesteros LB/DE, Brian Nicholson LB, and Samad Hines WR, are playing well. Jordan, Josh, and brian are playing great. Samad is having a good year. Since my son plays defense, that is what I mostly give 100% watching. And Jordan Josh and Brian being close, that is my focus.

Not because I know these kids, and one is my son, but you are getting kids with b@ll$. That is what we need to be considered a team to reckon with in a conference like ours, B1G.

In 2 1/2 weeks we play Miami Northwestern which is ranked 4 or 5th in the state in 6A. Will let you know how we did.

Great update! Thanks for the information. Sounds like Kill & the Gophers have some quality players coming to the team. Good to hear that they are pretty tight on & off the field; that can only lead to better team chemistry.

Didn't seem like it was worth a new thread... But that was before I realized Devonte Robinson is from Delray Beach not Miami Central. Damn

But Ryan Burns of GI just tweeted that Devonte Robinson just decommitted and is considering the U.

Here is the tweet.

@ryanburnsGI GI has learned that Devonte Robinson has de-committed from West Virginia and is now considering teams such as Minnesota. Stay tuned for more

^saw this. If I'm not mistaken, isn't that where Kirkwood is from?

That would be a good get. Looks like he has some size.

getthemall hinted at this a week or 2 ago. Love having a primary source as a poster here!

Edit: Or am I thinking of Dee Joyner?

Wow, if both Joyner and Robinson both decide to decomit from WVA and come here if would seriously upgrade our receiving corps! Along with Harbison and Fruechte we'd have a LOT of speed and quickness in this group. Four receivers in one class though? I say we make room for it. Just can't turn this down. West Virginia is not happy with us.

It really wouldn't be that tough for us.

Fruechte wouldn't be with this class, he is a JuCo (will be a RS-SO).
3 WRs in one class, especially considering how empty we are at the position, isn't that tough.

On a side note...we also have Engel coming in as a walk on. This kid is really fast and had a great FR season at Winona before deciding to come here.

Sounds like the Miami 4 have the ability to recruit for Kill and company. Which FL recruit's dad or mom went to Mankato state or grew up here?

First time poster here so bear with me...I read on Twitter that Ryan Burns at GI learned that Devonte Robinson HAS de-commited from West Virginia and is now considering teams such as MN. This could be good news for the Maroon and Gold!!!

Big kid with good speed, works for me. He'd make a nice replacement for DaJon McKnight.

Thanks so much for the uplifting news for us diehard gopher fans. These kids will be a huge help for us and I am glad
their on there way!!!

Bob, what's the story on Engel? I've heard his name before, but don't know anything about him. Thanks.
