I just hope he doesn't get his ankle intentionally twisted.
The real Dr. Don is back at last
I just hope he doesn't get his ankle intentionally twisted.
The next would be the first.
I think his stock suffered against tOSU. He looked very pedestrian against a good defense. He seems to be a bit of a suck/ prima-donna. (twisted ankle comments, body language after getting hit, frequently pulls himself out after good runs).
Maybe like all the others, it is the system not the back. James White looks pretty pedestrian in the NFL at the moment.
I thought his body language in the OSU game was pretty telling. I know the score was out of hand, but there's something to be said (and often is by many coaches) for players fighting hard until the final whistle. Nice leadership.
I think people are too quick to anoint Gordon as the best modern day Badger running back. He is freaky athletic but my money is with Ron Dayne. Gordon hurts you with his long runs and I agree there are a lot of them. Dayne had some long runs too but he also hurt his opponents many times with a one yard gain.
Wisconsin had better hang tough with Auburn or Melvin could check out for the NFL by halftime.
Gotcha. I can see that. The reason I thought this may be sarcastic was because many people thought Ron Dayne was a bust in the NFL and he was the king of the one or two yard gain. That Badger Oline has made a lot of running backs look really good.
Most whips of a child per seasonHow about top rushing records? Yards per game.... per season? I bet i'd find him there.
The next great NFL running back out of Wisconsin makes it official.

You realize he's not going to be running against Illinois and Purdue defenses in the NFL, right?..
Gordon gained a ton of yardage by getting to the outside, breaking a tackle, and letting loose. What stops that? Quick defenses that can seal the edges, and defenses that are good at tackling. That's why the Gophers had just about as much success in containing him as anyone else this season.
Guess what NFL defenses are like? Quick and effective tacklers.
I think he has a chance to be a fine NFL back. But there's no way in hell that he's a star.
