Media Prediction Thread: Minnesota at Nebraska

The secondary is the healthiest and least hampered by outside forces that it has been all year. Not sure how they say our secondary is undermanned unless they simply mean we suck?

And from perusing Nebraska boards, they're missing a couple key cogs at WR. I think if anything, we might be susceptible to a strong running game. I'm not worried about their passing, haven't been impressive all year, have they?

Westerkamp is ridiculous. We have nobody like him but luckily we have someone like Winfield or Travis to cover him.... I hope.

Greder chimes in:

MINNESOTA at No. 21 NEBRASKA, 6:30 p.m., BTN

The Gophers (7-2, 4-2) have not shown enough of a balanced offense this season to pull off an upset in one of the toughest road environments in the country. Nebraska (7-2, 4-2) won’t cover seven-point spread, though. Nebraska, 28-24

Go Gophers!!

The Lincoln Journal Star chimes in:

BC'S BEST GUESS

HUSKERS 22, GOPHERS 17

As big as any game this season. Maybe Nebraska can't get that stain from last week completely out of the shirt, but win Saturday and the very real opportunity to go 10-2 in the regular season remains. How many people really thought in August that would happen? Lose and you'll hear a lot of people asking out loud how far the Huskers have really traveled since last year. Mike Riley said this was a chance to hit the reset button after last week. It's also a chance to show that the first eight weeks were the true representation of this team's toughness. Expect a boxing match Saturday. The pick here is NU lands one more punch.

Teddy Greenstein Chicago Tribune.

Minnesota (plus 7) at Nebraska: The winning team gets the $5 Bits of Broken Chair Trophy. (Google it.) The losing team probably says bye-bye to the Big Ten West race. Take the Gophers.
