I watched her in the state tournament last year and was very impressed. She was a great all around player. Quick, a good shooter and ball handler and very good defensively. She let the game come to her. Thankfully she continues to be very impressive as a Gopher and will have a great career.

...and I don't think she'll be under the radar for long, if she is at all -- particularly now that the team is without Braun.

When I watched her, she doesn’t seem to play like a freshman. She seems confident and poised. I can see why she got the start in the last game. Hopefully this will continue when the competition gets tougher in the Big Ten.

Youngblood’s article in the Startrib about the game today echos what we’ve been saying about McKinney. Maybe he looks at Gopher Hole.

Mckinney seems fearless. I hope she keeps playing that way. She can really take charge and take over a basketball game. She can carry the squad if they get in a rut. She is a fun player to watch.

McKinney as a replacement for Braun (only if injured) is a step-up from Sanders (last year). Fun to watch.

McKinney is another example of Coach P's good recruiting eye. McKinney can really play, and is a plus athlete who will really help in the new BIG 18. ESPN had 32 BIG signees in the top 100 (no McKinney), and ASGR had 34 BIG signees in the top 100, with McKinney finishing at 103. I would take McKinney over at least half of the BIG signees ranked above her.

Roster is definitely built to absorb the loss of Braun a bit better this year.
