Max

So JJM won't be starting the rest of this season?

To be clear, I think JJM is a bust but there won't be any kind of QB controversy after today. If Max plays ok today, JJM is still concussed until Max plays terribly. JJM will play next week. Max is done.
I am sure whenever JJ is healthy he will start

Max had a 33 Qb rating today
JJ had 34 last week

They’re both done.
Now it’s about who the GM think helps his job security more.
He’ll be gone by Feb 2027 either way

I just can't believe that a professional coaching staff thought he was ready for this level of football.

He's an undrafted rookie that was on the roster as the third string QB. Who exactly thought that he was ready?

No sugarcoating it, Max was horrible. That OL has now gotten 3 different QB’s annihilated though, and the playcalling also did him no favors. The Vikings are in a tough spot at this point.

Max was our last chance at some hope this season too. Tough position to be in. Season is certainly over now with no bright spots.

Not next year. Answering that question is all today accomplished.
For sure

Today showed he should’ve been a practice squad not a number 3

Though last week showed JJ should’ve been a practice squad and not a 1

I was feeling good about today until the pick 6. Considering the outcome of the game, I hope Vikings ownership is looking at how stacked the QB room was at the end of last season and how two guys who are currently slinging for winning teams were allowed to walk for a 20 year old who specialized in handing off the football. Not to mention how Wentz was allowed to play hurt for weeks this season. It's sheer coaching and management incompetence.

Yeah, whoever was responsible for restocking the Vikings quarterback group should lose their job.

Giving Darnold the bag wasn't the answer. Today showed that too. Seattle will not make it past the divisional round of the playoffs. They tried to keep Jones he choose to leave.

McCarthy being a bust sucks. But this choice was made in April 2024 not February 2025. They were never going to bail on McCarthy without ever giving him a chance. The only way that became an option is if Darnold got them to the Super Bowl. Instead he pissed himself in the biggest game and made it an easy call.

Agreed. Darnold for $100M wasn't the answer. He's a "shrinker" when it matters like Cousins was. Besides, at already the highest player salary budget in the NFL, I don't think that contract was even a consideration. Some of that is on Jefferson commanding a giant contract.

The problem has been in every decision made since Darnold walked. This includes the head coach running one of the most pass heavy QB dependent offenses in the NFL with a QB room that started the year with 2 rookies and a washed up veteran that didn't even have a pre-season. It doesn't work.

Bummer, was hoping Max would have a good game but didn't work out that way.

Really tough spot for a first start, especially playing behind a banged up O-Line.

JJ McCarthy is today's big winner. Once his eyes go uncrossed, he'll still have the starting job. Hard to believe the Vikings thought they could roll with this duo.
How Kwesi still has a job is a mystery.

I feel for Max. Like the announcers said...."whoever is the Vikings QB he has had very little help".

The Queens need to start over. Replace the GM and staff, trade Jefferson for a couple of quality OL and bring in a FA QB. Most important is putting together a decent OL.

The Vikings should be embarrassed. So much so that they should leave town or at least move to Duluth. Sorry, Duluth.
