Max Brosmer and Quinn Carroll commit to playing in bowl game

If Max wants to play in the bowl...that's cool! 100% He should have the opportunity.
But, if he decided to train for the combine, stay healthy or whatever his reason would have been not to participate it would have been nice to get next years' QB some experience.

It makes a huge difference. The whole off season the understanding from game action of what you need to focus on, the excitement that the team is counting on you isn't just maybe...it is real. Imo that makes a big difference. A million % it did increase the development for kids coming back in high school versus the ones who just moved up from JV without any varsity game time.

Unless PJ is going to the portal for a QB...then Max will play the whole game.
Playing in the bowl didn't seem to help AK coming into 2023.

Sitting out of bowl games never made any sense.

If I’m evaluating talent for an NFL prospect and a guy lacks the competitiveness to want to play with his team in a bowl game I am definitely dropping him at least a round or two in my draft order. He obviously isn’t going to have what it takes to win when it really matters.

Why would these two be correlated in any way at all?
If PJ, after watching Lindsay practice all fall, has determined he needs a QB from the portal to start next year, he'd be less concerned about developing Lindsay and just showcase Max.

We can find outliers everywhere for anything. Just offering my experience with the difference in results. AK seemed to have multiple issues.

with any player being able to leave at any time for any reason, really the only thing that should matter for a bowl game should be winning the game

You play Lindsay because you’re developing and he blows up, someone offers him 3 million a year to play for Auburn and he is gone (which would still be the right choice if he gives you the best chance to win)

Same argument goes the other way...Don't play him and he walks because somebody says they appreciate him more and he thought he should have played here.
It's truly complex...damned if you do....damned if you don't. Too hard to know without being there.
