Well...the Mavs lost 700,000 followers on Instagram in just four (4) hours after the trade. Maybe she's the evil twin of the Owner from "Major League"?

* Luka lost $116M in the trade with the Lakers unable to offer him the Super Max

* GM Harrison admitted he never spoke to a single other team about Luka being available

* GM Harrison is close friends with Pelinka and Jeannie Buss dating back to his days as a Nike Exec

* Kyrie can opt out after the season and could sign with the Lakers if they move Reaves and a few others in S&T

* Lastly, there probably wasn't another single move made that would benefit the NBA more financially than this trade.

Factor in that 90% of the other teams would've offered much better deals but were never even made aware Doncic was available and something really stinks here IMO.

Yep. There is more to this than wanting more defense and saving money.
 

Not that any of the major pieces in this deal would have played today anyway, but the Mavs are currently down 48 points to Cleveland midway through the 3rd.

My Mom taught me to ask for directions, when she would lambast my Dad for not doing so, after he got lost one again 🤷‍♂️.

I also didn’t realize they didn’t shop Luka, my Momma also taught me better there -

I read they weee interested in Randle, but there was a 1.7 Million dollar discrepancy so doesn’t work via 2nd apron. Probably was a wild i ternet rumor, but damn anyway.

I think the SAS just make too much sense, especially if they can hang on to Castle and Vassell. Maybe something around Jeremy Sochan, Keldon Johnson and Picks?
 




Does the Luka trade mean Perkins will stop saying the KAT trade is worst in NBA history?
 





Can you imagine the Lebron and Luka whistles from the refs in the playoffs.

Did anybody tell Perkins that Donicc has 5 first tm all NBA at 25.

Davis has 4 at 31. He did get a 2nd tm last year though.

Heck, the KAT trade ain’t even worst in Wolves history. that Sam Cassel for Marko Jaric. Where McHale even threw in a 1st rd pick as a sweetener.

I dunno. The KG trade was pretty bad.
 


San Antonio gives up 3 1st round picks in their deal for Fox, whereas the Lakers give up 1 in their deal for Luka. (Think that’s correct.)

The SAS didn't have to include a single foundational player in the deal (Vassell, Sochan, Castle, Johnson, etc.) and the FRP included from WAS will never convey. A master class trade by the Spurs GM...genius, actually.

If Fox proves to be a bad fit for Wemby and the Spurs, he will be an Expiring deal with transferable Bird Rights next season and they'll likely get far more value back in a trade than they gave up to get him. Exciting times for SA fans.

I feel like those years were all one big McHale Trade….

I recall being baffled why we didn’t extend Cassel. Fired Flip. Traded cassel for Jaric, threw in the a 1st, instead of obviously being entitled to a 1st thrown our way. This is despite Jaric being a no one. Gave Jaric a massive contract based on, well no one has ever figured that out.

Then traded Wally for whatever Danny Ainge needed. Decided to throw in a first on that trade, to shed Olokandi and Wally. Ainge then flipped for Wally Ray Allen.

McHale, then figured, well they got Ray Allen, might as well give em KG too.

That team, if you start at the beginning was probably easier to assemble in Minnesota, than it was in Boston. They would have been better too. We started with all the pieces. Plus Cassel and Flip to coach it. Flip Wally for a Gaurd, Develop Randy Foye. Trade your 2 1st rounders wisely (help for KG).

McHale was fine as a coach. Heck he was pretty good. Would have been a fine assistant coach with Flip too.

He was an even better Boston Celtic dynasty builder. They could have put him in Celtics HOF just as easily as a GM of the Wolves.

Also will interesting to see how this plays out the rest of the season with the Kings currently in the 10th spot and the Spurs a couple games behind.

Marko didn't even bring his girlfriend, Adriana Lima to games. That was the real tragedy of the trade.

News out today, supposedly via Bill Simmons, is the original deal also included Dalton Knecht and another 1st.

Apparently Pelinka talked Harrison out of those. Arguing Doncic was too risky.

All I know is Dallas could have gotten more.

The Kings could have gotten more for Fox.

Wemby is going to be the face of the NBA and is international, so they get Fox for nothing.

The Lakers get Luka when Dallas could have gotten more.

Now we have a conspiracy we both can sign onto.

Read not too long ago that Kings liked the idea of Randle for Fox and needed a facilitator. I think maybe it was Jon K that was talking how it was close but proved impossible. Just damn.
