"@Matt_HayesSN: Source confirms to SN: Wisconsin pursing Maryland transfer QB Danny O'Brien. posted soon @sportingnews"

Go Gophers!!

Would that be a Louis Vuitton, or a Prada purse? :)

But seriously, eff wisconsin.

I wasn't surprised when their name first came up but now that Buddemyer is reinjured and will miss spring practices and with Phillips recovering from 3 ACL surgeries on the same knee this is pretty much a no-brainer for them.

Boy, Bielema really likes free agency...err.....um....I mean transfers.

I thought he was released to Vandy?

Are they far enough under the cap to add a starting QB?

Where's your post from almost a month ago on the subject? Do you want to post a link to it?
So if someone doesn't post their thoughts on a message board regarding a specific subject it means they haven't been following the story? When it comes to message board geeks you really take the cake.

I've been following this story since the day it broke and Wisconsin has been on this kid's list of schools since the story broke. Sorry I don't have multiple posts on the subject to prove to you how long I've been following this story.

Are you aware that it's actually possible to speak face to face with other people and have what we call 'conversations' with a live human being sitting right in front of you? I know it seems weird to you that some people don't actually post everything on a message board, and believe it or not I actually have thoughts and conversations that I don't share on this board.

So why even comment on it? What was the point? It couldn't be your irrepressible boner for me and your insatiable lust to make nearly every one of your posts of, about, or responding to me, could it?

Butt-head can continue to take his chances with free agency players but seldom does lightning strike twice in the same place. I like Kill's approach of developing his own QB's over time. I predict Kill will have much more consistency and success from year to year.

Go Gophers.

We have one healthy scholarship QB. We'd be absolutely insane and borderline retarded not to pursue him.

Because I thought you might get hurt patting yourself on the back. You actually went back to find a post you made a month ago and then posted that link to show us all how smart you are? Don't you get any attention at home? Why the need to be the smartest person in the room all the time? You define the term 'message board geek'.

Righhhhtt. And what QB's have Coach Kill recruited and developed over time? Surely you don't mean Marquis Gray? And definitely not Chandler Harnish, because he wasn't even Kill's recruit. Not to mention, Harnish had some not so nice things to say about Coach Kill for abandoning his team before the bowl game. Was there some QB he developed at Southern Illinois that had great success? I don't know, I don't follow them.

Why do you feel the need to always bring my personal life into it? What does that have to do with anything? And why are the overwhelming majority of your posts responding to me? You define the term "worthless message board poster who has no original thoughts of his own and has nothing of value to contribute to this board whatsoever".

Just because you didn't recruit the player doesn't mean you didn't develop them. If anyone gets credit for developing Harnish its Kill's staff

Okay Badger lover, could you explain how this helps recruiting and developing QB's if he ignores the QB's that started with the Badgers and not once, but twice ignores them for a "free agent"? It's on thing to be in the program, and get beat out by a recruit, but to pay your dues and then have someone waltz in during fall camp and get handed the reigns?

Please tell us how this helps future QB recruiting. Please tell us how Bielema has successfully recruited QBs for his system. I just don't understand how he could totally miss at such a key position. Especially with the run game Wisconsin has.

He isn't "missing." Our top two QB's are out with injuries, and likely will not play this upcoming season. We have one scholarship QB and he's never started a game before. Our true Freshman QB coming in is having shoulder surgery as well and will not be available for fall camp. We have two, that's right, two, healthy QB's and one of them is a walk-on. If we don't add another QB, we will have a walk-on WR who played QB in high school running our scout team. We need another QB. There is no possible way you can mistake our need for a QB as a lack of development at the position....you'd have to be a complete moron to arrive at that conclusion.

As for recruiting, Russell Wilson's success last season has directly result in two top-tier dual threat QB's being interested in Wisconsin. Aaron Bailey and Malik Zaire are their names, look them up, they will both be visiting Madison in the near future. We also landed an elite 11 QB out of California last year.

Expand on the incoming true freshman. Did he just get injured? I could see the two that were with the program suffering season ending injuries being tough luck happening, but if the incoming recruit was already injured prior to national signing day then it is still poor planning. No reason for a program with Wisconsins recent success to gamble. Especially since most of the other positions were solid.

BTW The "complete moron" doesn't hang out on Badger boards keeping self informed on the lastest in Badgerland. With that said, I didnot know that the Badgers were down to one scholarship, and one walk-on QB. Still might be tough to pull him from Vandy without Chyst. That program appears to be on the rise.

He's having some sort of a shoulder surgery to remove a cyst or something I think. At least, that's what I thought I overheard at the office today.

O'Brien wants to be reunited with Franklin. You can't really blame Wisconsin for pursuing him, no matter how much it pisses us off.

Don't blame them at all. I was just addressing the counter to a question regarding Bielema wiffing at QB recruiting. Could be a perfect storm situation for the Badgers. It just seems odd that the Badger program would be forced into putting their whole season (for the second season in a row) on the back of a transfer QB.

It really has been a perfect storm.

- Our senior QB, Phillips, has torn the ACL in his left knee three times, so he might just hang it up, which is perfectly understandable and probably the smart thing to do.

-Our Junior QB, Budmayr, was healthy when Wilson got there last year, but he messed up his elbow during camp, was out all year, and suffered a set back about a month ago and will likely not play this year, if ever again.

- Our sophomore QB, Brennan is healthy and will contend for the starting job.

- We have a (RS) Freshman QB, he's a walk on and he's healthy. He will also be contending for the starting job.

- Our true freshman QB, Houston, is out through least the majority of fall camp as a result of shoulder surgery. I have not definitively heard what his injury is, but his surgery was announced this week, well after signing day.

We have no one else. Since signing day we've lost two QB's. Our only healthy, on scholarship, QB has thrown something like 20 balls in game in his career. We really need a QB. Not even a starter necessarily, I mean it'd be great if a transfer panned out, but we simply need depth right now. Our back up is a walk on and we have a WR running our scout team. If one of our QB's gets hurt in season it would be a disaster.

I doubt Houston has a shot at starting. He looks like a talented kid, but for a true FR to play QB in the Big 10 (besides in times of desperation), it really needs to be a perfect storm. The kid will likely miss too much time and still be needed to be treated with care when he does arrive.

I don't blame WI for going after O'Brien. I really don't think O'Brien is the perfect fit like Russell Wilson. He might still be an upgrade, but the second I heard Russell Wilson was going to WI, I thought - - "he's a better version of Brooks Bollinger, damn".

I agree with everything you just said.
