Tony Liebert's Top 2023 HS players in Minnesota
- TE Jaxon Howard (offered)
- OL Jerome Williams (committed)
- OL Greg Johnson
- OL Reese Tripp (committed)
- DL Elinneus Davis (offered)
- DL Martin Owusu (committed)
They must’ve liked Tripp and Williams more. Will be interesting to see how many olinemen they take. Plenty of time to still earn an offer.![]()
Greg Johnson, Minnesota Golden Gophers, Offensive Line
Greg Johnson is a 6-6, 305-pound Offensive Tackle from Prior Lake, MN.247sports.com
If Tony thinks Greg Johnson is the third best player in the state, I wonder why the Gophers haven’t offered. He does have one from Iowa State. Rivals reports he is 6’ 5” and 280 so he might be more of an interior lineman instead of the OT he plays at Prior Lake.
Jawline is pretty soft so there's that! They must’ve liked Tripp and Williams more. Will be interesting to see how many olinemen they take. Plenty of time to still earn an offer.
Iowa State throws out offers like candy at a small town parade.![]()

No one said any such thing. You're just reading what you want to read. This has to be wrong. Was just reading on gopher hole that we’re late to offer and that will really hurt us in this recruitment.
Already got Reese and have a bunch of recent tackle signings, so maybe they're only looking to take one?![]()

FWIW 247 shows: Howard (.9581), Williams (.8797), Davis .8638), Tripp (.8559) in that order. No mention of Johnson and Owusu. 2023 looks to be a down year for MN kids other than Howard.Tony Liebert's Top 2023 HS players in Minnesota

Is this really that much of a down year for Minnesota? Typically not a ton of talent to be had in state most years. Loving all the lineman though, if there is one thing you can find in this state it is guys who play in the trenches.FWIW 247 shows: Howard (.9581), Williams (.8797), Davis .8638), Tripp (.8559) in that order. No mention of Johnson and Owusu. 2023 looks to be a down year for MN kids other than Howard.
Pretty standard year I think.FWIW 247 shows: Howard (.9581), Williams (.8797), Davis .8638), Tripp (.8559) in that order. No mention of Johnson and Owusu. 2023 looks to be a down year for MN kids other than Howard.
Exactly, that’s why you take your time with home state kids. There’s no backing out.Look at that. When you actually make the offer, they push people out of the way to run over and sign on the dotted line.
Welcome! Kid looks huge and will play his heart out for his homestate school! Love it!
I think you meant to type out "that's why you take advantage of home state kids." ?Exactly, that’s why you take your time with home state kids. There’s no backing out.
Not sure what you mean by this.I think you meant to type out "that's why you take advantage of home state kids." ?
FYI, you're looking at the 247 composite. The 247 only rankings list 20 players from MN.FWIW 247 shows: Howard (.9581), Williams (.8797), Davis .8638), Tripp (.8559) in that order. No mention of Johnson and Owusu. 2023 looks to be a down year for MN kids other than Howard.
Tony might be reposting the 24/7 State Rankings as the list in Hungan's post matches 24/7's exactly.![]()
