Mark Rosen received handwritten notes of condolences from every Gopher football player including a very personal one from QB Tanner Morgan

Awesome for the team to do that and (belated) condolences to Mark.

If you just had this one act to show you what RTB culture was, this alone would be impressive. However, having student athletes who are talking to homeless, leading racial reconciliation walks, volunteering at the children's hospital and so much more makes it almost unthinkable. Plus, they have incredible GPA's and are winning football games. This is what any athletic organization that hopes to form young people should be about. Thanks for sharing Mr. Rosen and condolences for your loss.

"Our kids will be more than football."

"We're going to connect people to Gopher football that don't even like football"

Don't leave PJ. You have a perfect home here for life.

Someday, you can run for governor and you don't have to campaign. Just bring us that elusive national title! 🙃 :drink:

Wow. It's not a tough thing to do.....but the thoughtfulness behind the act is really what matters. Really shows the character of PJ. He's not only teaching players how to be better on the field....but better people off the field as well.

Cool to see....and proud of the team.

He is honoring the memory of his late son every day. I think that was the impetus behind Row the Boat.

Little did we know that a sixth-grade teacher would become a good football and life coach.

Classy coach, classy program.

Remember, the Gophers were the first road team to go onto the field at Kinnick between the 1st and 2nd quarter and wave at the kids and families at the U of Iowa Children’s Hospital.

There have been plenty of others but this is a perfect example of how Fleck sees the big picture in a way that other coaches just don't.

Individually it took little to no effort for the players to write these notes to Rosen but the collective gesture of the whole team taking the time to do it speaks volumes about the way this program is being run. It isn't just talk, Fleck is truly working to make these guys better men and not just better football players.

Love him or hate him (there are still a few but that group gets smaller all the time), Fleck really does practice what he preaches, it isn't just a schtick.
