I've seen a few blogs and other whispers out of Gonzaga concerning Mark Few and his relationship at the University. Could this lead to a potential move to another school? He has received much criticism lately for another early retreat from tournament play. Something may be afoot in Spokane, potentially another Gonzaga coach could be headed to MN or is it UCLA? An .801 winning percentage and a 14 year perennial tournament team is nothing to ignore. Last year Few was reportedly headed to AZ but that did not materialize, but this year seems to be different. Tommy Llyod is slated to be Few's heir apparent and that move may happen sooner then expected if MN can lure him away. The U of MN has been silent on this potential hire but now that coach Smart is out of the picture, It would make perfect sense that Dir of basketball operations Jerry Krause might be getting nervous. Dave Boling, The (Tacoma) News Tribune says Few's job is safe but Greg Crawford of CSN Northwest says its time for him to go. It's unbelievable that a coach with a .800 winning percentage and a 14 year tournament run should be worried? Potentially Few might ease everyone's mind and take the MN job, as he is likely frustrated with the uneasiness his perennial winning makes some fans. Few has been part of the Villa 7 coaches group thus knows Teague and Ellis, thus this link makes perfect sense if it turns out to be true. He is only paid just under $1MM per year thus he could be easily lured to MN financially. Could MN fans tolerate another Gonzaga guy?
