Marcus is having clearinghouse issues and also needs surgery on a lingering shoulder injury. It's my understanding that he still plans to enroll at NDSU, but that it'd be a "greyshirt" situation.

Between all the Nebraska and NDSU talk, maybe we can ask Nadine if they can change the name of the website to UpperGreatPlainsHole.com.

You are aware there are NDSU fan sites, yes? I'm sure they would know/care Marcus Williams' roster status.

I'm sure there are some NDSU boards, but I just didn't want to sign up for one of those sites just for one question.
 

I don't know if this has to do with an obsession of increasing post counts or just an a$$hole mentality in general, but there are a few posters on this site who feel obligated to chime in every time they feel someone has done or said something they disagree with or feel is wrong. Instead of feeding into the troll-like mentality (like I'm obviously doing), why don't you just ignore it? Yeah, it's an NDSU player, big deal. He's not Big Ten competition, he's a former Minnesota high school player, and there are obviously people in the know here that could help a guy like Weisbrod (who more than likely has contributed to many Gopher football threads with his 99 posts) out with any info they have, as was done above by MGGopher. Yes, its a free board that is intended for Gopher football talk, but there are no stipulations that state you cannot deviate from the norm. It's the internet, people.

The issue is not posting non-Gophers info. It's the fact that he did so, and when called out on it, instead of just saying "my bad", he gets all defensive and lashes out.

It's perfectly understandable for people to want to limit the discussion to Gophers football. I don't know if you noticed, but there are other pages within Gopherhole.com. In fact, there's one called the Off-Topic Board, where it states as its purpose: "This is the place to discuss all topics outside of Gopher sports or Collegiate athletics."

This makes about as much sense as going to Kansas's fan board and asking why Brodrick Smith transferred.
 

This is going to be the end of this, please! But the reason I "lashed out" is because I have seen this type of rude behavior on this site before, and I guess I felt like I needed to defend myself. People come on here and feel like they need to regulate what is talked out. Just ignore it, don't call me out for being curious about a MINNESOTA high school athlete, who, according to an interview from this site, was looked at by the Gophers. It's not like my comments are infecting the message board or anything. Go onto the Tubby's Barn Board on here and you'll see SEVERAL posts that are non-Gophers, and no one seems to care. Can we just drop this and move on? Now I know...I promise not to bring up anything non-Gophers on here again. Sure, I should have just ignored Bronko Nagurski Gopher's initial comment, but I was just fed up.

So he got upset with a smartass comment that wasn't particularly necessary. Wow, human nature prevails again, who would've thought? Way to be the better man and place the blame on others to defend your actions, as well. Considering that the purpose of this board is "Gopher sports or Collegiate athletics," you've done absolutley nothing but make yourself look like a prick who finds necessity in isolating those who don't play by your rules.

Actually, the purpose of this board is to "gather to talk about the team, Coach Brewster, recruiting and the program's march back to Pasadena." I don't see anything in there about discussing NDSU recruits and/or players. But people see what they want to see, I guess.

Furthermore, it wasn't even me...it was Bronko. So "get off your high horse".

Maybe Bronko was irritated with you two for one...first you are off topic and second your non-post post without any info, a question, comment or message may have just set him off...I for one am in total agreement with Bronko...your post was off topic and poorly constructed and your response was over the top.

Want better responses to your posts...make better posts.

If that's the case, why do we continue to have threads on Lane Kiffen, Bret Bielema, Fritz Rock (after we ended his recruitment), Rick Pitino(?)/Barry Alvarez ... and the list goes on. A question about a Minnesota kid playing college football somewhere has ALWAYS been part of the discussion here. If you don't like it, don't read it. I know, I know. It's tough for Bronko and dpodoll to let anything go. But try. Please.

It's my belief that staying on topic greatly enhances the quality of the experience on this site. The main topic is 'all things Gopher football', but within that framework, try to stick to the thread topic. For example, last week the vast majority of threads morphed into Brewster or Maturi bashing. Start out talking about TCF concessions, end up bashing Brewster.

I read that Floyd wipes side-to-side in one of Shooter's columns. A little birdie (or was that "turdie?") told him.

MW could not go the U of M because underwater basket weaving is not a major like it is at ndsu.
