"I came away from the scrimmage probably as impressed with redshirt freshman quarterback Moses Alipate as anyone else on offense. Alipate threw the only touchdown pass of the afternoon to Stoudermire in the two-minute drill. He has always had a great arm, but he seems to have worked on his body. A trimmer looking Alipate really looked comfortable in the pocket. If he continues to improve, he should get a legit opportunity to start in 2011 (unless Gray has a breakout sophomore year)."

Go Gophers!!

My only apprehension after watching Sat. was that he got to see the 2nd team defense. The arm strength cannot be questioned though.

if someone thinks Alipate could be starting next year they are drinking way too much way too early in the morning

you are a moron, he is an 18 year old kid who's mind changed by the minute and he had a father who was calling all the shots and controlling his kids life.

Marcus Fuller doesn't lack credibility. Bankonit does.

credibility and message boards are oxymorons, all of you pull s*&^!#*&^!#*&^!#*&^!# out of your ass and think you know what you are talking about when really you know s*&^!#*&^!#*&^!#*&^!# the fact that someone would take a message board seriously is hilarious

This may or not have been true but lets assume it was, then this shows even more how clueless you are. Why would you make that guarantee if he was so impressionable, maybe because you don't have and never did have a clue. Please keep posting however because I always need a good laugh.

was I the only person who thought he was leaning here? Seantrel would have been here had Sean not made the USC decision for him, but it is all moot now because he will end up a never was like WLA

First off you don't know for sure why he didn't go here. You are also backtracking now by saying leaning. Lets just hope the poor kid doesn't end up like you, that would be really a shame.

did my guarantee hurt your feelings and you can't let it go? What if I guaranteed a Viking Superbowl last year? would you never let that go because Favre choked it away?

some people's kids....just dont know when to let it go do you bankonit? [{(now would be a good time)}]

lets not forget that alipate would have been sacked or at least hit before he threw that td pass. He has a great arm, but you have to have gray at qb especially with how bad the oline has shown they could be

No didn't hurt my feelings and sorry not a vikings fan so could care less about them. Why don't you do the gophers a favor and guarantee they will lose every game because that will be the year they win the Rose Bowl.

Gray is the future of the franchise, but we'd all better hope Alipate is good enough to push him or even start. If he's good enough to start that's not a problem, that's great. Competition is a good thing, but us Gopher fans aren't used to it so we're quick to want to move someone because we're accustomed to not having any depth. Well, good teams have more than one quality option at QB (and every other position) and with Brew's recruits getting more and more seasoned it's something we'd all better get used to.

I think its a bit early and unfair to be acting like gray is the second coming of peyton manning. the kid is young and is developing but I'm not ready to say he is "the future" or that he is "the best" on the team. I don't care who starts at qb as long as we are winning. and if we are losing because the qb is the problem, we can be thankful we have 3 guys who are all very talented! maybe alipate is the future-none of us know for sure, but its obvious we are all excited. if weber plays great this year I hope many will say they are wrong...and if he struggles I hope gray comes out and dominates. cause if weber is bad, gray is bad, we better pray to a higher power that alipate will come to the rescue. there is a lot of pressure on brew and his qb's, I hope whoever plays can handle it and has success!

Brewster is blessed with the best group of QBs he has had since he got to MSP. One or more will be very productive this year. You can bankonit

I agree that it's the depth that's key. It creates competition that can only encourage growth, and it provides a solid back-up should an injury occur. I don't care if it's Gray or Alipate at QB, I just don't want to see a guy like Weber of '09 as the starter. It says a lot when we that dismal offense was the best we could muster.

Here's another guarantee, you will be spanking it in your basement again after another lonely night
