per Fuller:

“What Andre has to really work on is his ball handling,” Saunders said. “Terrell had a phenomenal handle. They both have the ability to really score. Terrell was like that. The difference I would say is that Terrell had an unbelievable handle.”

“You can see Andre was a guy who was more of a scorer when he was coming up,” Saunders said. “That’s his mentality. When things get bad, he’s going to look to score. He’s going to continue to keep on working on that to where he can handle that thing like it’s on a string rather than sometimes when he’s dribbling it looks like every muscle in his arms are straining to pound the ball as hard as he can. He has to relax a little bit.”

“Terrell really didn’t have the range that Andre has,” Saunders said. “Andre’s got really good range. Terrell was a 15-19 foot shooter. Andre has really got that three-point shooting. But they’re both phenomenal free-throw shooters. That’s one of the things as a coach you love to have.”

Go Gophers!!

Tyus needs to read this part...

If anyone knows a good scoring point guard (Brandon, Sam Cassell, Chauncey Billups, Gilbert Arenas, John Wall), it’s Flip.

Arenas was a dangerous point guard...had a lot of weapons.

Andre's pullup jumper has always reminded me of Brandon. Such a quick pullup.

Flip is dead on. Andre is a good scorer but he could be a great player if he improves his handle. That'll be his ticket to the NBA too, because he's too small to be a SG.

I cannot imagine a high school kid with NBA aspirations not at the very least giving Flip and Minnesota a great deal of consideration. I really hope Flip gets the job.

During his his CBA days 23 of his players moved to the NBA.

I am pro-Flip, myself, and I think it matters, but it's not like Izzo, Matta, etc etc, haven't coached dozens of players to the NBA. That's slightly different, but I'm sure some kids would view it as just as important. Two sides of the coin- coaching them there and coaching them to get there.

Either way, I would love Flip to be our coach.

It kinda says Flip has been paying attention to the Gophers, don't you think?

As long as Dre doesn't have TB's ankles, we'll be alright.

I think Flip has always paid attention to Gopher basketball, just moreso now cause he's not coaching. And yes, he was likely fully aware of the possibility of this job opening up and took even more stock into the players here.
