Manny's or Murray's?

Jax used offer a shuttle to and from the games.

Head over to Saint Paul and hit up Mancini's. Sinatra's old hangout when he was in the cities. Also half the price.

Manny's is my favorite for the "expensive" steak joints. If you wanna blow it out with your buddies from TX go to Fogo de Chao. Meat lover heaven. Plus a buffet if side dishes.

I've been to Manny's and Murray's (as well as many other steakhouses) and always order a filet medium rare. For my money and taste, the best combo I've had is Twin Cities Grill at MOA (although they no longer put a piece of toast under the steak to soak up the juices like they used to). If you're choosing between the two, go Murray's.

Go to Betty Danger's and eat in the Ferris Wheel! For something different.

That would be a good starter, but if you want to give these guys an experience, do dinner at Gastofs. Great German food, beer maids and lots of ziggy zaggy.

I think Murray's is the only place where you can get Lutefisk relish, so you should go there.

The Best Steak House. Filet, baked potato, Texas toast...next please.

Oh, I've enjoyed some good filet from the Best Steak House in my time. That's a classic. Another good place in the same vein is the steakhouse in Farmington, randomly.

You have to bring your big boy appetite to The Farmington Steak House!

Thank you all for the great suggestions. I have been to Murrays several years ago and am going to avoid the Capital Grille's and ***o De Chao's as we have those in Houston. I think for the group I have we will probably end up at Manny's since this crowd seems to be leaning that way. I will let you all know where we end up and will provide a full critique of our experience. Again, thanks for all the suggestions. Should be a great few days in the TC's, I am a little disappointed the temperatures will be a little warmer than what i hoped but, oh well. Warmer weather will favor those damned Horned Toads i'm afraid. GO GOPHERS, beat the hell out of those horny toads.

OP asks Manny's or Murray's. 49 posts in and like 3 people have given their opinion on that question.

Manny's.

Manny's.

And this one stayed on topic!

I would take those Texans to Matt's or Quang on Eat Street. There must be enough steak in Texas.

My favorite steak place is, hands-down, Burch Steak and Pizza just off Hennepin Avenue. As someone else mentioned, walk a few blocks north of the restaurant (up towards Douglas Ave) and look at some really cool homes in the Kenwood neighborhood. A side benefit, if you have someone not up for a steak, the pizza is pretty dang good (also makes a good app).

I prefer JD Hoyt's to all of those places, and I do like the steaks there, over the pork chops. I rode by tonight on my bike and could smell the meat cooking on the open grill near the front. That open grill adds a lot to the ambiance.

I do think Manny's is good, but I do not need to eat there unless a supplier or vendor is paying. I am not going to drop $300 there for two. I was hoping the new Salt Cellar in St. Paul, would be JD Hoyt like, but it just a another overpriced foo foo place, sort of like it's neighbor WA Frost. Mancini's and the Cherokee used to be better, but they are not the top tier, but I still like Mancini's.

I am sure Jax's café is a good bet, though.

Oh I forgot, if you are not a fan of Manny's, Ike's just next door is more casual with very top shelf food as well.

Coming up for the game and bringing some friends from TCU and they always like to experience a fine steakhouse. I know these places are expensive, but we are blowing it out this weekend. Can I get some help on where to take my friends from TCU? Manny's, Murray's, JD Hoyt's or other suggestions?
A little guidance would be helpful and appreciated. BTW, my taste is more along the lines of a Big Ten Sub at every meal.

Manny's............Manny's..........Manny's. Murray's is great too, but it's not even close. Manny's hands down.

Jax is awesome! Although I think between Manny's/Murrays/Jax, you can't go wrong.

Murray's for the steak and price. Manny's for better sides and dessert.

Dining experience depends on what you want. Murray's is classier. Manny's is your typical power place where you go to be seen.

I would also agree that Jax is great. It's extremely classy.

I have to agree. With the added bonus of a nightcap just down the street at Liquor Lyle's.
