Major League Baseball, union discuss playing all games in Arizona as a possible way forward

I think this plan can work but in May? Not happening

some of the stuff in this proposal is just goofy.

Instead of sitting in the dugout, players would sit in the bleachers to maintain social distancing.

And electronic strike zones (nothing can go wrong with that...)

This comes down to the owners trying to salvage as much of the season as they can so they can collect on their TV contracts. Teams with favorable local cable TV deals will be OK, but teams like the Twins that don't rake in $ from local cable need gate receipts. Wait and see - there will be demands for revenue sharing of local cable TV money if this plan goes forward.

I would love to see what would happen with an electronic strike zone. Just to see. Other than painfully long MLB games, my biggest frustration in diamond sports is the umpire effectively taking over the game via an inconsistent strike zone.

The idea of the players sitting in the stands 6 feet apart is ridiculous. They're going to be together in the clubhouse. They're going to be near each other in the field, on the bases, at he plate, etc. This will only work if/when players can be easily tested daily.
