Doogie people will think what they want, you don't need to defend every media person in this town. But Mackey and Reusse are both journalists they way Spurgeon Wynn and Randall Cunningham were both Vikings quarterbacks.

edit: This gives me a thought: The current Gopher team feels like what it would have been like trying to get through half a season with Spurgeon Wynn instead of just that one epic game.

Honestly - Mouth breathers? Journalist? Are we in kindergarten?
A journalist is not provoked by the response of readers and does not stoop to a level equal or lower than the lowest common denominator. I realize this is an old-fashioned definition, but it holds true to an even deeper degree now. The vitae does not establish this distinction, behaving like a journalist does.
But - keep in mind: npr has already been disavowed by gopherhole, so if you get rejected here you may have fallen off either end of the spectrum.

I don't have a problem with the guy. But calling him a journalist is not accurate. The same way I can't call Nadine a journalist. It's not a slam. It's just a fact.
