Lots of shots of the 'M' and it's nice hearing the announcers talking about the University of Minnesota and how warm/hot it is...lets those kids down in Georgia know it not snowing all the time :)

Great, just what we need the very next day...a breakout performance by Teddy B and the Vikings to take all the attention off of a huge Gopher win.

There are hardly any block M's or maroon and gold, very disappointed. At least the U of M marching band performed at halftime.

I saw the Maroon M several times during the game and they mentioned the gopher stadium a few times. I thought it was great

Bullschidt, josh. The more attention to all things Minnesota, the better.

Not as much as you would expect IMO. The only Maroon is the padding on walls of the end zones. Nothing like the Bears game was with the block M and maroon end zones on the actual field that everybody sees. They even had the Big Ten and National championships covered up.

No reason they couldn't have mentioned we captured the jug yesterday. Of course that started long before the NFL.

Not sure what you expect. Why wouldn't the Vikings want to have their colors and logo displayed as much as possible?

Either way, the logo was shown many times. They zoomed in on the press box multiple times with "University of Minnesota" written across. They showed the stadium from the outside on the side of the big screen. That has the big M on it.

The Minnesota win err I mean Michigan loss is still a much bigger story on a national level.

M's all around the field on the wall padding too

The one thing I noticed is that they never referred to it as TCF Bank Stadium, they always said "the stadium at the University of Minnesota". Anyone know why they wouldn't say the actual name of the stadium?

Now that you mention it, that's right. Maybe Vikes already have a naming rights agreement with U S Bank?

Different sponsors, different money. Plain and simple.

Yeah, I figured. I am just surprised that the U allowed them to not mention the sponsor that helped get the Bank built.

NFL sponsorship rules.....they don't pay the NFL. I know for a fact that the NFL has asked the Vikings to talk to the U of M about the Maroon wall pads with block "M" as well. Glad nothing has changed so far.

The fact that they are playing there at our TCF is advertising in and of itself.

If it is mentioned "University of Minnesota Stadium" , that is a good thing.

Ruppert, I don't know how many they won last year, but I do know of one they didn't win this year. :drink::drink::drink:

Didn't Atlanta win 4 games last year? Not much of a story if you ask me.

(Oh, is it time to just post random stuff that has little to do with what everyone else is talking about? Okay, I'll try.)

You guys are so right, the weather at today's Vikings game looked so nice.

These are easy posts to hate. There are Viking fans that hate the Gophers and there are Gopher fans that hate the Vikings. But the more we have that are fans of both, the better.

The Lions may suck historically, but they do just fine supporting the Wolverines, Tigers, Red Wings, and Lions. Michigan has sucked by their standards for several years and they still sell 100,000 tickets every week.

Announcers don't call a sponsored stadium by name unless that company has spots on Fox. TCF Bank doesn't habe a spot on Fox, so Fox will not call U of Minnesota stadium by it name.

Interesting, I didn't know that.

I don't think that's true.

The championship banners are not covered up. I sat right in front of them at the Vikings game today. They're right where they've always been.

Also, Kill, Claeys, and Kaler were all there today with the Little Brown Jug. They showed it on the jumbotron several times.

The U of M band played at halftime.

The weather was beautiful and, while I didn't watch on tv, I have to imagine there were some great shots of the stadium on a perfect fall day.

And, like every other game the Vikings play here, they paid us a bunch of money.

I'm not sure what more you can reasonably ask for!!!

Get out of here with your facts and level headed thoughts.

This is a place of gumdrops and unicorns.
