They lost to the Georgia Tech, led by Dennis Scott in the 1989 Sweet 16.

Criminy, do our own fans really not know these simple facts? This thread is embarrassing.

In 1989, we beat Kansas State and Siena and lost to Duke in the Sweet 16.

In 1990, we beat UTEP, Northern Iowa, and Syracuse before losing in the final seconds to Georgia Tech's Lethal Weapon 3 in the Elite 8.

Outside of 1997, these are our high points in the past 25 years (and they actually counted). I would think our fanbase (and apparently Wikipedia) would remember them better.

we just needed one more Shikenjanski rebound and put back....

I believe this was really a tough loss for our program ....We would have had a chance to play against Tark's Runnin Rebs' ....likely would have been blown out, but you never know. Would've been a nice game for us recruiting wise I would think for the 90's to get that national exposure.
