They had this at the PSU game during their White Out! It was great!

In case anyone missed the email... Will be interesting to see how this turns out with a sold out crowdlight show.png

I didn’t see the light show stuff on my app. So I downloaded the app again. It didn’t replace my old app. I now have two apps with nearly the same icon. My old app has my tickets on it. My new app has the ability to do the light show stuff but I can’t log on to it (get an error). A bit of a mess. It seems so “UofM” to muddy the waters with two apps that nearly do the same things and have nearly the same icon, without retiring the old one.

Thoughts:

1. There was an old app and new app update situation a year ago... maybe you encountered those two apps. I suspect only people who downloaded the old app can see the old app and the new app on the store.

2. There seems to be a difference between logging into the app ... vs logging into see your tickets. It's weird.

Whole situation is confusing but smells of some outside contractors managing the apps and everything and ... now they got a mess.

I have the same situation. Gah.

would you recommend deleting the old app before downloading the new app? Seems like it could be a dangerous move.

Thank you! This explains why I could never get my tickets to show up on the app last year, and had to log in to the site through a browser to download every week.

I had both apps on my phone (iPhone). The old version had my tickets and the new one had everything else but wouldn't let me log into my account. I finally decided to take the risk and remove both of them and re-install the version currently in the app store.

Luckily it seems to have worked. I was able to log into my account and now have access to my tickets as well as the "more" menu that includes the light show link. Your mileage may vary.

That's interesting and would suggest you can only be logged into your ticket account in one place/version at one time. In that way, it might actually be a security feature. Who knows though. But it's great it worked for you!

How did the light show turn out?

My phone would not activate when it was supposed to.

I suspected happened to a lot of people. And those weren’t prepared couldn’t download the app because if cell service quality.
Mine also sat in waiting to connect - in retrospect it basically seemed like the lights just stayed in so I could have just turned on my flashlight?

I had the app downloaded and ready to go. but missed the cue to start it, and then couldn’t get synched when I realized it was happening.

In our section, 112, I turned around and hundreds had their phone up but nothing happening.

Mt wife and I just had a “waiting to synch” message.

I did all my homework and was all set. And my phone did nothing. It looked like a smattering of phones did something, but mine was not among them despite my extensive efforts.

These light shows with phones are super lame. The shows that use the stadium lights are cool and actually work.

What was with the in stadium WiFi? I couldn’t connect for the first time in years. Cell service was bad too even with WiFi turned off?

Light show didn’t work but I’d keep trying these types of initiatives. Plenty in my section that don’t carry smart phones. My section is well over 70 years of age. They still stand though!

Major tech disappointment, not sure how it was blown but it certainly was not because fans didn’t try. I had this next to me had same issue “syncing” or just no activation.

My app wouldn’t open because I never get good cell coverage in the stadium.

I tried opening the app when the specialists came out on the field to be prepared. It sat there with the spinning wheel of death for 5 mins before I pulled the plug. I just used my flashlight.

If they want to do something like this, they’ll need to have Wi-Fi in the stadium. I’m assuming there are others like me that limited the participation.

Apps are great for corporations that make money off of apps.

Just keep acquiring more apps. All will be well. What could go wrong?
