Interesting:
In addition, as part of Parker’s process, Parker asked candidates “to disclose in writing any potential
issues of controversy or concern that the University of Minnesota should be aware of (i.e., legal, work-
related, credit issues, civil litigation suites [sic], etc. [The finalist] signed a statement indicating no such
issues exist.”
Followed by:
The University of Minnesota was not aware of the existence of a confidential agreement between VCU
and its former women’s basketball coach Beth Cunningham -- until the agreement was mentioned in
December 2012 in conjunction with the 2013 complaint filed by Regina Sullivan following her non-
renewal from the University. When the University of Minnesota did learn of the VCU agreement, the
University’s general counsel contacted the attorney responsible for the issue at VCU for more
information. The VCU attorney indicated it could not provide information because of the confidentiality
agreement to which the parties had agreed. The VCU attorney gave no indication of any concerns about
Teague and, in fact, was highly complimentary of him in the conversation.
It begs the question, why wasn't Teague dismissed in 2012 for signing a BS statement that didn't acknowledge the problem at VCU?
