Let's see a heavy dose of Hoffarber & Mbakwe

you're right I am wrong! blake never stands around. he is such a good off the ball player he will probably get drafted in the top 10. the kid is a beast not only on offense but is a shut down perimeter player. non stop energy he brings not to mention his first step off the dribble is superior to anyone of the 3 poibt specialists in th country!

I'm not going to argue anymore because blake is the great white hope that can do no wrong

Glad to see you finally get it.

blake stands around a lot of he isn't hitting 3's early.

blake is easy to defend because he can only do 2 things: get open in transition and hit set 3's!

blake is slow and not very good at much other than hitting 3's and trying to be scrappy.

I will be honest and rip him because I don't care if he is from hopkins or if he gets good grades or if he is white! the kid wouldn't play on of the top big ten teams other than minny

Blake currently:

1. Leads the team in scoring (average and total)

2. Leads the team in assists

3. Leads the team in steals

4. Leads the team in 3 pointers (made and %)

5. Leads the team in FT %

You might want to try analyzing baseball. It's more your speed.

Good theory, SS. But there are two huge problems with it:

1) Tubby's offense has been woefully incapably of setting the necessary screens to free Blake up for the last three seasons. "Run Blake off screens" is pretty basic, and if they haven't figured it out by now, it doesn't seem to reasonable to expect them to get it in the next three months; and

2) I have never seen an offense that has a much difficulty getting the ball into the post in a position where the big man can do anything with it.

The perimiter players (espescially Al) need a handwritten invitation before they'll consider it. Last night in the second half, Al just dribbled up top and looked away from Ralph when the big guy was being guarded by Jordan Hulls who is generously listed at 6-0. And there was no help D to be found that Al needed to worry about. Unfortunately, as is all too common, Al was incapable of getting him the ball.

The same thing happened earlier in the game when Ralph had it up top and Mbakwe was being defended by a guard. Ralph can make the pass into the post in that set as he and Colton ran it a lot down the strech last year. But last night, he just looked Mbakwe off and harmlessly passed it around the perimeter on the wing.

This is inexcusable when your PG and SG are seniors, and each of your post players is a junior. For some reason, however, it continues to happen all the time. Lots of catcalls from our section (myself included) of "Get him the damn ball" as we watched our post players establish position on the block, only to have the perimeter player look right at them and then just pass the ball around the three-point line for 20 seconds of the shot clock. So frustrating.

Heck we might as well let Trevor shoot all the time!! Hoff is too slow.

Let's see - we're trying to replace Devoe's:
25 minutes
39% shooting ( 2's and 3's)
62% free throws
2 rebounds
28 assists
15 turnovers
11 points

I suggest we forget the 15 turnovers and shooting percentages and spread the rest around to the 5 players on the floor.
