Les Bolstad Golf Course is closing after the 2025 season

The teams rarely, if ever, play the course anymore, and the press release clearly states that the golf performance building and the practice area that are solely used by the golf teams is not part of the sale.

I agree wholeheartedly with the sentiment, though. The U should own a championship-caliber golf course somewhere in the metro. Limited space for expansion made Bolstad outdated for B1G level competition many years ago.

But lacking any real foresight, the BOR never addressed that when they could have purchased or repurposed already-owned land that could someday be used for a golf course and turf and water management research facility.

Yeah, it really feels like mismanagement by the BOR, but that's par for their course (pun intended).

I just don't like losing the course where I blindly holed out from the bunker beside the green, hole 9.

Lol, #9. Also brings back good memories for me. I holed out a pitch from about 30 yards for an eagle 3 there on my way to my only golfing claim to fame — 4th Flight Club Champion.
