Treat for you Minneapolitans. Stumbled across these dudes who make LEGO models of classic MPLS bars.

If you search Slye Fox & Jeff Esler on Facebook, they have lots more photos including interior. (I don't know them, and their photos are public, so hopefully this is all ok posting.) Pretty awesome!

That's very impressive work. Thanks for posting these...fun to look at.

Go Gophers!!

So awesome!

I spent a lot of time in the CC in the 90's.

Some good shows at Lee's.

Many lunches at Matt's.

Been to the Otter once.

Still miss Nyes a lot.

Samesies, except switch CC & Otter. Never spent much time at CC, but Otter was our go-to karaoke bar. Plus, U Otter Stop Inn, is the best pun ever.

OMG...I just noticed the peddle pub parked outside Otter Stop. :ROFLMAO:

Same on the CC. Particularly about '94 to 97'. Funny thing is I've been living around the corner from it for the last 18 years and now I pop in maybe once or twice a year.

I know there was a lot of concern about retaining the old character after the woman who owns French Meadow bought it and got mentioned in the NYT. Well, about three years ago I popped in on a rainy, early Spring Sunday afternoon. A young woman was loudly protesting her group being kicked out. Afterwards I gather she was pissed that someone had narced on her for going down on one of the guys in the men's room.

Never change CC, never change.

I was there the night of the big shooting last June I think. It was the first time in about 15 years. Going during Covid was not the right time to revisit it.

Don't recognize any of that....but these are cool.

Come on, man! Not even Matt's, birthplace of the Jucy Lucy? Nye's was voted best bar in America by Esquire. The models do look remarkably like the actuals bars.

I really have never spent much extended time in Minneapolis. Maybe I'll have to put some of these places on my 'to do' list.

Matt's is really the only "must see" now that Nye's closed. My relatives from Indiana saw the Matt's vs. 5-8 Jucy Lucy rivalry on some Food Network show and made a point to go to each the next time they visited. Here's some pics of Obama at Matt's.
