Leach would be the worst choice we could make.

He is the worst choice.

He is crazy. Watch the videos. No major university is going to give him a forum where he can emabarass the school. Maybe he should try the pros.

Even if he gets hired again he will never be as successful as he was. There never has been an offensive scheme that could not be solved - that includes his. His bubble is burst. The emporer no longer has any clothes.

idk if you take his results up against all your complaints than you really make no sense. Simple question: Do you wanna win? Who gives use the best chance to win? If you honestly think any of these mid-major guys are better than Leach then you need to go read some books on college football and coaching.

or listen to this quote cuz in this case your "they're"

Leach said Maturi "seemed like a nice guy. I enjoyed his company. But if they're basing (the hire) on how you're dressed or something, rather than winning football games, they're doomed to repeating history."

Mike Leach has an incredible coaching record. His offensive scheme is remarkable and efficient. If you read the NY Times article, you'd think he was the kind of football intellectual genius we would want. The Pirate scheme is enticing. Falsely accused of belittling a players injury?

If we were making a movie about a football coach, I'd be all for this guy being the subject.

Hasn't anyone wondered why he hasn't been hired elsewhere if he's such a genius? If he's the 2nd coming of football then why isn't he working? Why haven't the TT fans demanded his return?
Has anyone really looked at the possible dark side of Mr. Leach?

This guy could be big trouble for the U...really big trouble.

And for all you Leach pushers...where's his defense? I thought a lot of you wanted a defensive coach. He doesn't have a defense.

Reusse pushes him now, but he'll be the first one asking "Why did the U hire this arrogant redneck?"

You are an idiot! The TT fans are demanding his return. There is a facebook site with over 50,000 TT fans doing as such. Everyone down here in Texas knows that Leach got a raw deal...and the whole James thing was a set-up. Leach is far and way the best choice - Maturi would be stupid to let this opportunity pass!!!

I just "hit up" a TT message board (at scout.com) and they seem kind of mixed. They're talking about his lawsuits and call his fans "Leachers". They're only talking about him because of the Donald Trump thing, right now.

One guy wrote:

I've said it before- Leach and TTech were made for each other. We are both a little different. We both screwed up.

And probably,, neither of us will do as well apart as we would have together

bunch of "leachers" on this board.

not only has he become the greatest coach in history he can also walk on water it would seem to many.

Is "Leach" your religion? Medocrity is the last thing I want and I'm sure that's true of the people doing the hiring.
But is Leach the only answer? The way people are posting, I wonder what sort of support any coach other than Leach will have.

In the real world you win games with players. Leach would have to work with what we have (and recruits). How do the present personnel we have fit an "Air Raid" scheme? We barely have enough able WR's for a Pro Style attack. Wasn't Dunbar a spread expert...what happened to his attack without the correct personnel? With Gray as QB, a version of the Pistol seems the answer.

You win with good players. To win a coach has to be good but he also has to have talent. At TT, Leach had Michael Crabtree. What WR do we have that even approaches Michael Crabtree? That guy was incredible...like a football magnet. One of the best WR's ever.

In another thread on this board "Is Kalar the next Donna Shalala (or something like that)", it was intimated that she was the UW President who got their program rolling by hiring Alvarez. Well she's @ Miami now and a couple years ago she turned down a recommendation from Donald Trump to hire Mike Leach (while he was still at TT). Why didn't she hire him if he's that good? (Interesting to see what she does this time with "the Donald" pushing again). I think the viewpoint from a public university is a little broader than most of us posters.

I just think we can "do better" from an all around perspective and still pursue excellence!

BTW, if Leach ends up getting hired, I'll support him completely.

You have the nerve to come in here and say that *wink*. Grab your shield.

Thanks Doc, seems you're the only one who got what I was up to.

BTW, need more than a shield. It would be easier to argue religion or politics than say anything bad about the "chosen one".
