Leach changing tune of offense.

Sounds like Brewsteritis

When he was running the air raid he was going against the grain. Now it seems like everyone in college football runs that offense. Maybe it is just a natural reaction.

Couple things: " they might go under center up to 25% of the time this year." They did it one time all season on a sneak last year. They were last in rushing last year. That'll get your attention. They hope to improve that. They'll still be airing it out. They are hoping to get back up to some balance by building up the roster through recruiting.
Connor Halliday retired from football. He was their QB last year. Graduated. Very good passer, nice player. Broke his leg in November. Still invited to combine. I watched the Oregon game. "Connor Halliday threw for 436 yards and four touchdowns, completing 43 of 63 passes, for Washington State (1-3, 0-1). The Cougars, who boast the nation's top passing attack, came into the game as 24-point underdogs but kept it close in an entertaining game"....37-31 loss.

Brewster came to my mind too on this switch of offensive style.

I wanted Leach. The Kill hire seemed sort of blah to me on day one. I love college football but unlike many on this board I don't actually believe I'd be better at coaching or being an AD than the people doing those jobs (well, usually anyway) :) .

How many would be willing to trade Leach for Kill now?

Maybe Rosemountain still would but it is hard to imagine how any other person would. Jerry and his staff are a true class act. There is reason why other coaches rate him at or near the top of who they would want to coach their sons. With Jerry and company you get life skills that you can use the rest of your life. That is an invaluable degree!

I'd still take leach

I don't think I would trade for leech now but I definitely would have at the time. Washington State is a tougher job than Minnesota I think. Not a ton tougher, but I don't see what you can sell to recruits over there.

Mike Leach is the Tiger Woods of college football: hasn't been relevant for years, but everyone talks about him.

He's had one job at a craptastic campus since nearly being a national champion at another craptastic campus. The fall of Tiger has been MUCH further. Leach is brilliant football mind who is an ahole on the side. I'd take him over Brewster in a heartbeat though.

Leach is/was a slightly above average coach with one exceptional season. Tiger defined his sport for over a decade.

Yes. Greatest golfer of his time, which is over. Has sustained his ass-holedness throughout.
