Lawmaker aims to make flag-planting a felony after Ohio State-Michigan brawl

I'm sure he's vigorously for it since it was:
  • Proposed by a R
  • Targets a very specific group of "others"
  • Allows him to feel brazenly hypocritical by restricting speech of his foes while moaning about speech for the groups he likes. Nobody in Ohio brought a bill about those neo-Nazis who marched with other flags in Columbus a few weeks ago.
  • Allows him to simultaneously act like part of a persecuted group while rooting for the richest and most powerful entity in its class (OSU football)
Considering about 50% of College players are white who are these "others" they are targeting?

I disagree with the bill but jumping to the evil racist Nazi republican deal right way is just stupid.

Others = Michigan football players. It's a bill aimed at the non-violent speech of 85 specific dudes based on their affiliation with an organization. Or, I suppose, any victorious road team at Ohio Stadium. I wasn't considering race in my comment.

Bro it's clear who this bill is aimed at and why ... you just playing dumb here or something?

It's aimed at college football players who are half white dudes. it's a dumb law but making it a race issue is stupid AF and a big problem with society today that everything is made out as a race issue.

I don't know what "half white dudes" has to do with it.

We know what happened at the game and this is about that... if you gotta play this dumb to make your point I think that should tell you something.

If the law applies to all players then it's not a race issue, now is it?

It's a stupid law for sure but this race crap is just getting ridiculous these days. Anything comes up that happens involve people that are black it's race issue no matter what it is or who did what. This is a stupid law issue is what it is.

You're the one all lost in this racial aspect ... I didn't say anything about that.

If there is any ordinance written or law enacted in Ohio, it should be against being too thin-skinned. OSUers need to understand that if, on rivals weekend, your opponent comes to town as a 19+ pt underdog to play on your home field and then wins the game: They get to plant their flag anywhere they want. They get to fuck your women. They get to do all the celebrating necessary. It’s THE LAW. 🕺

That looks more like New Yorkers discussing the weather

So, I had to see this guy’s story. Turns out he had a tumultuous and difficult early life but now Josh is dedicated to public service, as we see here today. “Josh decided to give back and help shape our youth by teaching at Adrian College. He currently teaches constitutional law, criminal law, and criminal procedure in the undergraduate criminal justice programs.”

Perhaps they can work on multiple things at once. Regardless the 3 fights we saw on rivalry weekend was a bit much. Just go celebrate in front of your fans on the road. Storm if you have to at home and get the road players in the locker room quickly. Do the handshakes need to happen in some of these high profile games perhaps not?
Long history here:

Who are these "others" then? Usually people use that as code for "race" when they're trying to make it sound like they're not talking about race.
Nobody brought up race, except you. Good lord. Are you really this dense?

The "others" in the satirical post you don't understand is "Michigan."

Long history here:
In watching that, near the end the ref was ejecting players (it didn't show the play), but really that was has to happen. Refs have really lost control of the game at all levels. Saw the Steelers/Eagles brawl yesterday and two or three guys should have been sent to the locker room.

I still don't know what the poster means when he says "half white dudes".
Does he mean college football rosters consist of 50% players who identify as white and 50% players who identify as black? Or does he mean that college football is made up of players who have one white parent and one black parent? I dunno...I'm confused.

He means "I want to be disingenuous in order to slide in right-wing talking points on a college football message board"
