Last Home Game Way-Too-Early Weather Forecast

Its been a pretty good season for both gameday weather and kickoff times conducive to tailgating. Hopefully the last game keeps with the theme. Kickoff time? - CHECK. Weather? - ??

Weather channel says high of 40 and dry. Accuweather says 37 with snow and sleet. Accuweather is not as reliable though.

For more than personal reasons a high of 40 and dry is best for this edition of the Gophers. Ground and pound is just not dependable, and being pass-happy usually doesn't work, for snow and sleet conditions.

Yeah this season has been pretty great despite the late start game.

Mid-30s isn't too bad. Hoping we're up in the 40s instead.

I like a good ol’ cold game every once in a while! I can dig out one of the free faux fur bomber hats that they handed out over a few seasons. Ready to row in my Sorel’s and choppers!

Still hot at my lil brother. He got one and didn't grab one for me. By the time I parked the car and got into the stadium they were out! Not "good looking out."

Might have to get some electric socks.

Part II Costco might have handwarmer packets in. I will check there and Menards. Will be handy once the sun goes down.

Speaking of hurricanes, the blow that came through Dinkytown around 5 PM before the North Carolina game was like a hurricane for the folks at the stadium with no place to hide. A good soaker with lots of wind.

Going the wrong direction in terms of temps forecasted for Saturday. Phone weather apps, are showing high of 32.

Still time for it to go back up!

This time just want the best weather for mid-November for the Gophers. Other than cloudy seems to be meeting that bill.

Apps have game day high temps inching towards 40. Right now consensus seems like 37.

Sun vs shade debate appears to be moot.

Actually the Sun vs shade debate is front and center again. I have long said that for the sunny side to be a benefit, you need several factors to fall in line and that doesn't happen very often:

1. The sun needs to be out (can't be a cloudy day)
2. It has to be a cold, late season game
3. if after the daylight savings time, it has to be an 11:00 AM kickoff (Kickoffs at 2:30 or later happen when it is mostly dark out anyway late season. The sun only is a benefit for a quarter to 1.5 quarters with 2:30 kickoffs).

This game misses two of the three requirements, meaning there will be no benefit again to sitting on the "sunny" side. That also means this entire season will go by without the "sunny" side being an advantage.

That being said, we didn't really have a "hot" game where the shade side was an advantage this season either so it was basically a push this year. It seems that usually we get a hot game or two each season.
