per the Pioneer Press:

In 2018, an NFL team will use the University of Minnesota facilities in preparation for Super Bowl LII.

If you ask Minneapolis native and Arizona Cardinals star wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald, that team should be completely satisfied.

“Their facilities are better than 60 percent of NFL facilities,’’ Fitzgerald said of what the Gophers provide.

Fitzgerald, who makes his offseason home in Eden Prairie, has worked out regularly during the summer at the University of Minnesota during his 11 years in the NFL. He plans to do so again this summer.

“Coach (Jerry) Kill always allows us to come back and work out, and he’s let me know that it’s OK to do it again,’’ Fitzgerald said. “We’re truly blessed. (Gophers strength and conditioning coach Eric) Klein lets us use the weight room. The training staff allows us to rehab and use the hot and cold tubs. We have hands down the best set-up of pro athletes working out. We’re truly privileged.’’

Go Gophers!!

We should join the NFL.

This is why NFL teams have trouble attracting the talent they need to compete in the B1G: lack of facilities.

Not sure if you're thinking what I am. Hockey facilities only available to graduates of the U. Sport by sport as to this?

Not technically "graduates" of the U, but at least have played for the Gophers (for hockey). I would guess it's a coach-by-coach decision as to who gets to use the facilities. But let's face it - there are a lot more pro hockey players living around here than football players. Can't exactly let every hockey player train at Mariucci.

Very good point and Kill notices the direct recruiting advantage and exposure of having an NFL star working out on campus.

Not to mention the Hockey facilities aren't as large as the shared football complex. Our players need a place to work out as well.
