Koi Perich leads Big Ten in Interceptions.

He’s also tied for second in FBS as well, per the thread I started on it 10/14 😃

According to Ryan Burns on this week's Pair and a Spare Podcast, Koi has played 188 defensive snaps this season. His INT/snap ratio (.026) has to be best in the country.

The Big Ten career interception record is 21. He could easily get that record.
Not sure I would say easily but if he continues on his current trajectory and stays here at least 3 years he could potentially challenge for records like that.

Considering future slate of Kaliakmanis, Locke, and potentially an unproven Penn State backup seems reasonable to think he’ll finish up with even more.

If he doesn't manage it this weekend I am hoping his first career pick 6 comes against Rutgers and Kaliakmanis. Agree that Locke and Athan are both good bets to put some balls up for grabs when we play them.

I can't help but think about our Safety room for the next few years. Koi, Kerry Brown and Aidan Gousby are the future, and the future looks bright.

If we didn't have Koi, we'd be talking a lot about Brown. He's really good IMO.
The defense looks much better when Brown is in the game and that says a lot considering the position he plays.

Kerry Brown is a heat-seeking missile coming up to make tackles. Helps in the running game defense. With the talent we have at Safety, maybe Bryson (if he stays) moves to the Jack Henderson spot next year. Bryson is bigger and heavier (6'2" 215) than the other safeties; nice size for the nickel back in the Gophers’ system.

He has definitely been overshadowed because he missed some time and Koi has emerged but yeah, Brown is really solid and the future at safety is extremely bright if both those guys stick around.

Sounds like the perfect strong and free safety combo.
