Or

AJ should have treated this like an NFL player in a contract dispute and said "I'll discuss it after the season" played out the year and if no scholarship was awarded, leave.

There were just so many better options than this letter and even better ways to make it public. Not the best strategy from AJ.

Whatever - we don't need this! He was our best receiver and certainly should have had a scholarship by this time. Major p.r. problem for a staff that needs a big upgrade in recruiting.

Since it has been decided by the forum that AJ's Mom's Friend is hot, I think you are being much too harsh on her. She was simply trying to console a hurt young man, and had her words taken viciously out of context in a public rant.

Glad I'm not the only one who gets that ad. I was worried that I was getting it only because of my internet browsing habits.
 

Rest assured RJ Superfan there is no internet straying on this computer, too many young ladies in my house for any of that nonsense. However that ad is similar to my wife's Victoria Secret catalog, just shows up on it's own, I can't unsee it.

Except for that it means you'd have to take one away from someone else. Guess what? As Mase stated, you reward players with a scholarship in August. Not in November.
 

I think there is plenty of blame to go around for both side. AJ will regret his actions and most likely ended his football career. On the other side, Kill needs to move out of the dark ages. I don't care who you are, you have no right to belittle and ridicule people. Respect goes both ways and there is no need to personally attack people with fear and intimidation in order to get your point across.

lol Typical 'progressive' response. It's a tactic that has worked for millennia. Not only for Football, but for military and other motivation uses. No, he doesn't have the right to belittle people.. but then again, this is football. Not the effing ballet.

LOL... Typical blah, blah response. They have always done it that way so it must be right.

Not all coaches do it. I doubt that Gagliardi or Dungy ever got into a players face and told him he was a worthless piece of sh!t. I did not say to back off of expectations or discipline, just do it with respect.

Not this again. As I've said before, nothing wrong with instilling discipline, but this is football and not war and I always bristle at that analogy.

And as for the ballet example (or for any of the performing arts), watch "Black Swan." Don't think that directors and conductors don't degrade their performers. I acted in high school and a little bit in college and I've heard first hand some pretty harsh dressing-downs coming from the folks in that field.
 

This is such a non-story it's funny. Easy decision. Barker and his parents deserve to be ridiculed.
