A "Kill" chant like on the movie Gladiator is a no-brainer IMO. I'm surprised it hasn't happened yet.

I love the idea.

I also like that Donnell is going out on a limb, trying to start something. It might not seem like a big deal, but it can be a chastening experience to try to start something and get shot down, so he's putting himself on the line, even if only a little bit.

Bumping this because multiple players are tweeting about it now. Everyone that is going to the game should partake. Could become a cool tradition.
 


I'm digging it, should have been done Kill's first season. I hope it takes off and I will do my part.
 


I'm imagining myself chanting this and being escorted out by security. Hey, at the U it could happen.

If this chant actually happens the u administration will go ape*&^!#*&^!#*&^!#*&^!# and shut it down immediately. I also wouldn't be surprised to see security hauling people out if they start yelling KILLKILLKILL
 




This will only work of someone lets JAMIE know. He needs to get on that PA and start chanting KILL! KILL! KILL!
 

Whoa, you guys know our head coach's last name is Kill right? No one is getting in trouble for this. I mean for god sakes the man has survived cancer and is beating epilepsy; no one is going to get pissed if the fans chant Kill. Now if you are holding a machete and pointing at a particular individual, sure you'll probably get kicked out.
 

If it happens this saturday, im driving back home for the next home game to part of it.

Neither will happen. Some blue hair may write a letter to the editor, but that's it.

WOOT! I'm all for this, though. Anyone who gets upset by this is really not aware of what is going on with the program or probably should be at home watching on Aggievision

Funny how some of us Gopher fans are so paranoid and downtrodden that we have preemptively attacked our own edgy game day cheer before it ever began. The media/admin/blue hairs have already won!
 

How the hell is the U administration going to stop thousands of people from yelling? Oh, I know...have the PA announcer yell "NOW STOP THAT!!!" That will work well, I am sure, as the student section will cower in a corner like a whipped puppy.

It's actually really simple. Refs threaten unsportsmanlike conduct for shouting death threats. After a 15 yard penalty. I'm sure people will shut up fairly quickly.

Now I don't think chanting our coach's last name would warrant this action, but you asked how it would happen and that is the answer.

The ref doesn't even have to warn the sideline. The PA announcer just needs to say that they were warned and it will come to a stop immediately.

Because that happens everytime the student section starts the bulls#$% chant? Or when they incessantly boo the refs?
 

Well, they don't penalize Iowa when some stupid drunk woman runs onto the field, I don't think they will for shouting from the fans.

Valid point. Which is why I don't think they would care.

But when people start throwing stuff on the field, that is how they get them to stop. I'm guessing if they wanted to stop this chant, they would perform a similar action.


However, I do question the value of going through the effort to create a stadium wide cheer that would become obsolete if our coach leaves. I would rather they put the effort into something that could really stick for many years to come and through different eras.
