Ferentz admits 'blind spot' on black player issues

Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz admits he had a "blind spot" in not spotting problems that made black players feel mistreated or uncomfortable in his program, but he expects things to change moving forward.

Ferentz on Friday said he didn't apologize to former players he has talked with over the past week, but accepts blame for any who had negative experiences at Iowa.

"I'm responsible for anything that happens here," he said. "That's my accountability, that's my responsibility, I'm the head coach. So anything that happens is a failure. That's on my desk. That's my issue to deal with.

"I can't do anything about what's happened. What I can do is try to do a better job moving forward."

So there you have it guys... the buck stops with Kirk.... he's responsible, but he doesn't have to apologize, won't talk about specifics, and he can't chagne the past so ... whatever ...

I never really hated Iowa because well, they were not that good back in my youth. Now, I do not like them. Getting to Husker level. Badgers are still in 3rd for me, a very good team but can't hate them like these other 2. Kind of like hating your cousin, it is not that bad.
 

Iowa administration clearly out of touch.

What in the world...? This has to be a joke.

Barta was quick to mention that he hopes the budget cuts are just temporary, and that he will be able to resume discriminating against women and the LGBTQ+ community upon the resumption of athletic activities following the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I’m looking forward to things returning to normal following this unprecedented time, so we can show off our new championship banners and female repellent system to the Hawkeye faithful.”

The politicians and the administrators respond to public opinion.
I hope it was not a shock to anyone that there was no groundswell of public opinion in IA to punish the IA FB team coaching staff.

Well said and fans bases tend to minimize problems with their bias to their own team or coach and expect corporal punishment for programs they dislike.
