Kiffin at it again

Just in case anyone is interested, it has now been reported that one of Kiffin's first hires, their strength and conditioning coach, has left the program. Wow. They haven't even coached a game yet and already, one of their coaches has quit. The article on ESPN mentioned that the problems between Kiffin and the strength coach had been brewing for awhile. To which I must ask: for awhile? The dude hasn't even been the head coach there for a full calender year yet!!!:eek:

It's truly amazing the circus Kiffin has turned Tennessee into. But I will say this: it's going to fun to watch (for as long as it lasts :p)

MRJ, I don't mean this directed at just you, but many on here in general...why does it seem like everyone wants to see Kiffin fail? I personally am rooting for the guy because he's a local boy. If I recall correctly, he was not offered the job here, so I don't understand the extreme dislike for him.

Possibly because this brewster had such a horrible first year in 2007. Some of the brewster backers think that if Kiffin wins some ball games in his first year, it will make this brewster look bad. I doubt if he will go 1-11 in his first year at Tennessee. The thing is, a throw away season is not necessarily needed...ANYWHERE. We'll just have to see how this brash young coach does. I don't especially like brash young coaches, so I don't really care too much one way or the other.

I for one never said I want Kiffin to fail, only that he seems like a d-bag and he appears "stinkier" than others regarding his recruiting practices.

Who said anything about wanting Kiffin to fail? The fact of the matter is that he has gone out of his way to make a fool of himself on several occasions. If your rooting for him to succeed just because he's a local boy, then go ahead.

But just because he went to Bloomington Jefferson doesn't mean that we should all be rooting for him. He's brought all this attention on himself by being completely clueless.

And as for Wren, way to spin this into some kind of "they want to take all the attention off of Brewster" thing. Since its obvious you aren't getting it, here it is: This has NOTHING to do with Brewster and his performance, no matter how much you want it to. Kiffin has made himself a national joke all by himself, which is the point here.

To a certain extent, with his twittering sna-foo and several other little things, so has this brewster. Reusse's got brewster's goat and this brewster just makes it so easy for Reusse to just sit back and ride herd on this brewster's goat. This brewster just needs to keep his mouth...and his twitters quiet and finally start coaching! No offense, mrj, but, during the dunbar experiemntal years, no OFFENSE was this brewster's problem. He had NO clue as to what his offensive strategy was or should be when he took over the job at Minnesota. So, he brought in that dunbar to put an offense in place since brewster ball was totally offenseless based upon the philosophy of brewster.

Hopefully, things will be more Big Ten-like in 2009 re: this brewster ball offense.

Again, NOTHING to do with Kiffin. If you want to spin everything that is posted as having to do with Brewster, than that's your decision. Apparently, you want to continue to get on your soapbox about how awful Brewster has been, why the school president should retire and we should get rid of the athletic director. Again fine.

But to repeat, Kiffin and his stupid actions have nothing to do with Brewster's coaching, twittering, relationship with Reusse or the offense under Dunbar.

you do not give brewster enough credit

Brewster has not had three recruiting classes. He was hired very shortly before players sign their letters of intent. It would take a miracle for any coach to steal recruits in that situation. He's had one class that he has recruited that has seen the field.

Brewster actually made some pretty good gets with this "first" recruiting class. None of them are still in school, which is a different issue. I was pretty hard on him with my expectations for his "first" recruiting class. Even with the short time period and the complete clusterf*** Maturi created by his (mis)handling of the situation, Brewster proved he could recruit from day one. You can't take that away from him under any circumstances. It's the only thing he's done since he got here.
