KFAVRE this morning

Excellent question, asked in a moronic way, but a good question.
They refer to themselves as KFAVRE, PA says it continually throughout his show.
But since you didn't know that it brings me back to me first post, thank you for not knowing that!

You're right. I had no idea. I mean, it's not like I've been listening to KFAN since PA & Dubay were nothing more than sidekicks to Jesse Ventura.

The whole point is that he says it when he is talking about the Vikings. You're saying it because you're feeding into (and trying to incite) the Napoleon complex that is alive and well in Gopher Nation. Here's a newsflash: they carry the Vikings games. Since you didn't know that, of course they're going to talk about them vs. Gophers (a team that no one outside our small fanbase cares about) at a 50:1 (or worse) ratio. Everyone can come on here and say, "Oh, poor us, why won't they talk about us?" but it won't change a damn thing. We wouldn't be Gopher fans if we didn't have some futile endeavor to piss and moan about, though!!

The Gophers can win with the Vikings in town. The Vikings are not the only thing standing in the way. Just like Target can co-exist with Walmart in town. But nobody, nobody, can deny that if the Vikings leave it helps the Gophers. Just like if Walmart left, Target's sales go up locally. Come on people. Don't give the media-following lemmings in this town too much credit.

What? How are the Vikings preventing the Gophers from winning? Are they going after the same players?

Wow! you ever get the feeling that some people just sit in there basements and just have no one to talk to. I'm listening dpodoll68.

Um, nope, but thanks for playing. I'm sitting at work. I have a very happy life and I have more important things to worry about than whether or not KFAN talks about my precious Gophers. Here's a clue: there are literally thousands of other radio stations out there. Turn the channel if you don't like it. Maybe you're one of those people who sits in "there" basements.

You give SD a bad name.

When have I ever said that? Don't embellish my quotes to try to prove your point. In my post I actually said they could win with the Vikings in town!!!! So it is basically the opposite of what you are claiming. Good Lord.

My whole point is that if the Vikings leave, there will be a little bit more media attention on the Gophers. I don't think anyone can deny this - or that it can only help more people here follow the team - and that might lead to more people going to games, watching on tv, etc. Does it turn us into NC contenders immediately? Of course not, it will take time, but every little bit helps, doesn't it? I would gladly trade the Vikings franchise for slightly more success from the Gophers. Many don't agree with me - but don't try to deny that even in a small way it helps just because you want them to stay.

Sorry, I was just trying to follow your Target and Walmart analogy. It may help in a very very small way. I just don't think it is worth bringing up because it is such a poor excuse. The Gophers have enough problems keeping the student fan base engaged let alone the rest of the state. This is why we don't have the support we need. Worry about that and not the Vikings taking away from our fan base.
