Of all the schools that the Big Ten has ever expanded with...none were better than Minnesota at football in 2021.

Minnesota 9-4 (FPI: 27)
UCLA 8-4 (FPI: 31)
Penn State 7-6 (FPI: 17)
Maryland 7-6 (FPI: 63)
USC 4-8 (FPI: 58)
Rutgers 5-8 (FPI: 86)
Nebraska 3-9 (FPI: 29)

If you prefer to use 2019, the last full season prior, the song remains the same:

Minnesota 11-2 (FPI: 18)
* Penn State 11-2 (FPI: 7)
USC 8-5 (FPI: 23)
Nebraska 5-7 (FPI: 47)
UCLA 4-8 (FPI: 58)
Maryland 3-9 (FPI: 89)
Rutgers 2-10 (FPI: 118)

* denotes...you know...

Of the schools I hear most often being rumored or considered, only Notre Dame was better in 2021 vs Minnesota.

Notre Dame 11-2 (FPI: 6)
Minnesota 9-4 (FPI: 27)
California 5-7 (FPI: 73)
Stanford 3-9 (FPI: 91)
Iowa State 7-6 (FPI: 9?)
Washington 4-8 (FPI: 62)
Colorado 4-8 (FPI: 89)
Kansas 2-10 (FPI: 114)

Expansion just might soften up the sked enough for the Gophers to get to Pasadena without a road game vs UCLA. :cool:
