We have a long history with them, they are by far our most played opponent outside of the conference. Plus, it's going to be a quite reasonable drive for their fans.
 

I can't wait to make that road trip. That should be a lot of fun.
 


This gives me an opportunity to remenice on one of my favorite stories from my late grandpa. We were watching the NE FSU de facto championship game in the late 90's, in the middle of NE's awesome run and I say 'Man Nebraska has a good program'. And he laughed and said 'Ha! We used to warm up against Nebraska!'

nice. we owned the record for most points scored (61) against them from 1945-2001. texas tech hung 76 on them a couple years back.

edit: texas tech scored 70 in '04. it was kansas in '07 that scored 76
 


If the earlier leaks are true (MN in with Iowa, Nebraska, Northwestern, Michigan, and Michigan State), and this "Nebraska requested MN" thing is also true... we can perhaps thank Nebraska from being placed in that (mostly) eastern division with OSU. IF SO... THANK YOU NEBRASKA.

Remove the extraneous http and it works fine.

And why wouldn't they request us? They've completely owned our asses. 0-14 since 1960. And only 3 or 4 of those were even competitive.
 

I hope Maturi hires extra security for Cosgrove the first time the gophers travel to Lincoln. The gophers will definitely have their hands full trying to win this game with any consistency. They appear to be on the way back as evidenced by their preseason rankings and the level of athletes they are bringing in.
 

I can't stand Nebraska. A fanbase that has made excuses for the likes of Christian Peter and Lawrence Phillips. If there's any team I want the chance to beat every year it's them. As a woman especially I can't stand them.

I was wondering if you were a woman or a gorilla. I like both, but a gorilla using the interwebs would have been impressive.

Of course its your right to feel this way, but I'd lose to the Huskers every year if it would somehow guaranteed we subsequently beat Wisconsin every year.

Seems like the re-alignment will revive the Minnesota/Nebraska rivalry nicely though, which is great.:clap:
 











Husker fans are fantastic football fans. They understand and respect the game.

I hope we're competitive with them.

There's no predicting how conference realignment will change the league or individual teams. Recall Florida State to the ACC...
 

haha, yes. Living with my parents while finishing off a degree in Graphic Design.
 

I worked in Brooklyn Park this summer. At Zanewood Elementary (if anyone cared).
