Karter Menz signed a deal to stay at MN.

Enough to have one of the top paid rush ends apparently. Do we have one of the top paid players at our other 21 positions on offense and defense?
I'd assume Anthony Smith is getting more.

I dont know how accurate any of this is. I doubt "Chris Hummer" does either.

But I do know I don't want to hear "poor Minnesota."

Of course you don’t, it makes it harder to blame the coaches for everything when you have to look at the realities of the challenges here.

I've never, ever seen a Gopher team with as much athleticism on the d-line with Smith, Howard, Menz, Karmo. I really hope we can figure out the DT group because our pass rush will be disgusting

I hope the program can keep Koi. I take this as a sign that there are other priorities and Koi likely won't get what he's asking for at Minnesota.

The compensation comment was likely also supplied by Menz "rep". Take it for what it's worth. All I know is he's happy enough with the offer to continue to play here and I enjoyed watching him this year. Ski U Mah

How many teams does Mentz start for in the Big 10?
Ohio State, Oregon, Penn State, Indiana.......do i need to keep going?

but seriously, glad he is back, we got some real talent at the DE position.....now like others have said, gotta get some cloggers in the middle

Karter seemed to get better & better as the season went on. I'm excited to see what he can do next year.

He started three games for the Gophers this year and could come off the bench again next year.

But, he is an emerging talent with a monster upside and he is already in-house, so good to keep him. He could be all-conference type player.

I'm sure it is his agency that claimed he's one of the top paid edge rushers when it let the media know Karter had signed. The agency wants to look good to get other players signed to representation.

In reality, what does one of the top paid edge rushers mean? Top 20 in an 18-team conference? Top 50?

I highly doubt Menz is in the Top 20 or 30 of DEs in the Big Ten.

Oregon and Ohio State and a couple others probably have the market cornered on the very top paid edge rushers.

When all the NIL numbers are made up, indeed you take it with a large grain of salt
