He's already rejected the job at Illinois. Supposedly, according to "experts", Illinois is both an elite job and one that would have paid a ton, plus you really can't get much more Midwest than Champaign.
Maybe but that Ill job is tough. Lot of pressure to get the Chicago kids who are 3 hours away, closer to ND, DePaul (lol I know but they're my alma mater) and even WI. Plus the Chicago Public league and AAU scene is a recruiting cess pool at times and the HS coaches think they have a ton of clout. There is talent all over as not only Chicago but also Peoria, Rockford, and even Champaigne produce B10 players and then you're also near Indy and STL. However its a tough gig as we saw with Bruce Weber. However anyone that can consistently get even 3 of the top 5-6 in Ill will have a long career there
