Just watched the 2nd half

I don’t think being in the mix for the CFP or getting into the top 25 and staying for a while is too much to ask in year 8 with a staff that took over a team with a 9-4 record. I do not think a new coach is necessarily the answer either, but fans should be able to question the middle of the road every year being acceptable. Should be able to pull off an occasional Ole Miss, Missouri, Indiana, BYU type season. In my opinion, of course.
I don’t think anyone disagrees with you

The Gophers are better off paying the players $6M and paying a good FCS coach $500K to coach the team. That's not a slam on PJ because I would say the same thing about almost all the other P5 head coaches at this point in time.

And how many highly paid rosters are worse than the Gophers right now? Many.

Ole Miss and Missouri are stronger programs that MN. Lets see how this season plays out before you crown Indiana. I like them but they could easily finish similar to MN in 2019.

It’s mind boggling how inconsistent this team is. It’s imo coaching, but not the head coach necessary. Greg Harbaugh need to be shown the door for my part two minutes after the game.
Look around college football and even the NFL. Everyone is inconsistent.

I think Minnesota has been better than Ole Miss and Mo. maybe marginally since coach Fleck arrived. They both have had lower lows, and similar successes. Minn has had more coaching Stability in the same period.

Top 10 in the country?

Agree to disagree but what’s great about message boards is we all get an opinion.

At some point we need to have a season where we go 7-1 instead of 4-4 in 50/50 games.

Totally agree. At some point for a truly special season as well, since they are currently on the schedule every year, also need to beat BOTH Wisconsin & Iowa. Hasn't happened in ages.

Running the table in all Home games is also pretty much a requirement, IMO.

Can't go 8-1 if the Gophers don't win both Floyd and the Axe, without sweeping the rest. I've re-checked the math.

EDIT.

They literally could go 8-1 by splitting those two games?

My bad. I edited (more than once sad to say originally) and left out a very key component in an effort to be clever. I meant to say:

Thanks for quality checking.

Ole Miss's NIL is in another stratosphere. Missouri has better recruiting base(s) I'd argue Indiana's in a better situation than us. BYU is interesting, I'd like to see us play them
