Jury rules Ticketmaster and Live Nation a monopoly

This.

Go Gophers!!

More than 15 years ago somehow in a different TicketMaster Class Action, I got a bunch of $10 voucher credits. Totaled $70-$80 and could only be used 1 per sale or ticket.

Had to go through substantial effort to claim them.

I jumped though all the hoops to get my share.

Out of SPITE.

Don't need a break up, because we already have companies like Stub Hub, Seatgeek, etc. who are more than ready to step in and start serving the primary-sale market.

We need to prevent exclusive contracts between venues and primary-sale providers, is one thing.

But really we also need stricter enforcement on the purchase of primary-sale tickets with no intention of going to the event, regardless if a bot is carrying out the transaction or not.

With the amount of pre-sales and the demand for some shows, even then it will still be difficult for average joe's to have a fair chance at buying a ticket at primary sale and avoiding the secondary market. Just too much demand for the biggest shows, not enough supply.
