I was just knocking around on the Rivals site a little bit and noticed that they have now bumped Cory Joseph and Jelan Kendrick up to five stars. They haven't listed a new 150 for 2010 yet however. Should be interesting to see what kind of moves each of these players make when that ranking comes out.

So, if Rivals is to be believed, we are now recruiting three five-star players for next year in Harrison Barnes, Cory Joseph and Jelan Kendrick. Also, Trey Zeigler and Casey Prather remain on the Rivals recruiting list, and if the rumors are true about Vander Blue decommitting, that would put mean we could be recruiting six players that are either four or five star prospects. :D

Not anything too earth shattering there, just thought it was an interesting tidbit

Are we really that interested in Kendrick? Rivals shows that we haven't offered him, unlike Joseph. I haven't heard much buzz about Kendrick, but I truly have no idea, so...

Yeah, I'm not completely sure about what we're doing or not doing with Kendrick. I was going off what Rivals has and Scout also has him on our recruiting list, so who knows? Someone with more inside info might be able to say a little more.

I was kind of under the impression that the Gophers were more interested in Casey Prather than in Kendrick. Having said that, it appears that most of the team's priorities in terms of recruiting right now are on Harrison Barnes and possibly Cory Joseph with Jacob Thomas also being a wildcard. Ricky Kreklow appears to also be in play, as are Alex Kirk and Elliot Elliason.

Additionally, nobody seems to know exactly what Vander Blue is doing in Wisconsin in terms of being committed or not committed. Plenty of intrigue regardless with the upcoming class, which alone could be interesting.

Totally agree with JG.. I expected maybe low 5- or high 4- star. He's a very good player, but 6th in the country? I like the kid, but having seen him play several times, that's just not accurate.

Cory seems to be just as good a shooter as Devoe, but a better ball handler and more pure point guard skills. Because of that, Cory was always seen as having more potential to be a star, but Devoe still played quite well for a freshman. I've got very high hopes for him going into the future. It's always interesting to see the step up players make from freshman to sophomore years, especially since Devoe wasn't on campus to train with Tubby and the team last summer.

Cory Joseph is a good player but #6 overall ranking is a joke.

Same thing I thought. I admit that those evaluators have seen way more of him and everyone else but I think Joseph is about a 30-50 type of guy. He's no where near as good of a prospect as Royce is this year. I watched the entire game they played against Oak Hill and he never looked like the best player on the court. He was maybe the 5th best player in that game and wasn't even the main guy for thier team.

Also Jereme Richmond is like #13 and I don't think he's that good at all. He's very skilled but not very aggressive or assertive

Never seen the younger Joseph play so I have no idea, however, I think Devoe is going to bust out this year and make a name for himself.

I hope CJ getting all this hype pushes Devoe to get a lot better over the summer. I would guess they were pretty competitive growing up playing so much basketball in Canada with not many other good players around.

Actually there are some very good basketball players in Toronto area where the Joseph brothers lived.
